I smoked for 12 years and tried many alternatives to quit for 2 years before I finally came across Ecigarettes! and like many I bought the basic junk beginner kits that where over priced and looked like cigarettes lol.... Of course that thing sucked but it did have potential so I snooped around the internet until I found something about juice vendors and upon looking into that I discovered big battery mods and bought a Indulgence! The rest is history and I have been analog free since july seventh of 2011

I started smoking when I was 14, my grandmother was in the hospital we knew she was never coming home, and all the grown ups I knew dealt with stress by smoking. I smoked for 27 years, and had started seeing a guy that was also a smoker, but he also vaped. He bought me my first pv, and helped me find some juices. Well he's gone but so are the stinkies, I haven't had a smoke in over a month now.

Well I quit smoking cigs because after eating and kissing my GF, I missed the taste I loved when I wasn't smoking analogs and vaping doesn't give me that yucky taste. Now eating and kissing my GF is a dream.....licks lips. :p

Wait a minute.... You eat her? Lol

I'll tell this story anyways, but I agree, someone without an iHy should win this contest.

I started smoking at the age of 15 and smoked till my 55th birthday. That was January of this year. Forty years!!! I first came across e-cigs in a Chicago mall 2 years ago. After a couple years of researching and procrastinating, mostly procrastinating, :) I finally pulled the trigger and started with an Apollo kit that my fiancé bought me for my birthday. Yes, she pulled the trigger for me! I can say without any hesitation, that I will never smoke again :)

I smoked for 20 years. Started at 13 and was a pack a day smoker by age 15. By the time I was 23 I decided to clean up my life and quit drinking and doing drugs. Couldn't quit smoking for the life of me. Tried the gum, patches, chantix, none of it worked. I was such a miserable sob that my family was hoping I'd start smoking again. A friend of mine who had already quit smoking had the itch to smoke and asked if I had heard of e cigs. All I knew was the pushy salesmen that were at the mall that I didn't trust. Soon after I ordered a joy cig and pcc. I did a little research but mistook joy for joye lol. The auto batt died in 2 days and I returned it. Did a little more research and ordered an ego. That was almost 2 yrs. ago.

Congrats Wharf!

Eh, the one day I should have skipped dinner.

Have an iHy already so not qualified for the 2nd contest! Good luck people!

My story, I actually started smoking after college. Go work force! So only a decade of smoking under my belt. Used to be almost a 3 pad smoker.

Went to a party in the city with couple of friends and Greensmoke was there selling kits. Bought one since this was when NYC started banning indoor smoking.

From there found ECF when I needed to rebuy supplies.

I still break and have cig during high workload but I'm doing good. Every time I have that 1 cig every 6-7 months, it tastes like ... and I go straight to vaping.

Anybody else find a soft spot for their first ecig?

I smoked for over 20 years. I’ve been vaping for about 2 and ½ months. I was surfing the web and a spam add for blu cig popped up and went to check it out. I then wanted to research them and found ECF. I learned very quick that wasn’t the best way to start. I ended up starting with cartomizers and the ego twist. I finally got into RBA’s and now I have found the best RBA the genesis style. I just got an iHybrid but wanted to share this anyway.

I smoked from the age of 14 to the age of 34, so 20 years.
I don't remember exactly what made me decide to try it, just that I had been seeing more little ads for ecigs on the net and in a few magazines so I decided to start researching. I mentioned it to a friend who said an old friend of our, that I hadn't even seen in 10 years had been using ecigs for 2 years. So I got in touch with him, he gave me lots of info, some of his preferred vendors and he sent me to ecf.
I started vaping a week later, in July of 2011. I seriously cut back in smoking, and bought my last pack in mid/end-February 2012. When those ran out in March, I decided not to buy anymore, so my official quit date is March 15 2012.

In short- Smoked for 20 years, vaping now for 13 months. And I've been totally smoke free for over 5 1/2 months.

free ihybrid time!!! not really a contest but I will choose 1 person :)

Tell me in a brief description, how long you smoked and how long you have vaped and how you became aware of vaping. You don't have to get creative or make stuff up lol. I just like knowing how people got started on vaping :) I'll choose a winner at 8:35pm Central time roughly 20 minutes :) anyone can participate but if you have an ihybrid I probably wont choose you, probably :) Have fun!
I smoked for about 11-12 years heavily. When I quit I was smoking 2 PAD and my wife 1 1/2 PAD. We found out she was pregnant last year and she immediately quit cold turkey. You need to understand we LOVED smoking analogs, that was our thing.. But I knew I had to quit as well and started really trying a few months before the due date, and that's when I picked up my first disposable. They really didn't do much but I could tell that electronic was the path for me. I ended up purchasing an ego-T kit and have been analog-free for coming up on 10 months. Since then I have switched to VV and VW devices, and my favorite hobby now is rebuildables, they are AWESOME. I love to fiddle and rebuildables are the way for me to do so to my heart's content. I have a bunch on order and a couple at the house :)

So I guess I became aware of vaping with the disposables and a Google search. When I asked around on ECF as a new user I tried the ego-T and when I really got "into" vaping, though now I could never be happy with those little ego tank systems... Now vaping is my all day thing, my hobby, most of what I talk about , what I spend my free time tinkering with, aside from my baby she trumps all. But ya, that's the brief version :D
