And here I thought my rolling j#^^t's days were over

..........:)..........

LOL just think of it as practice!

Make sure all the screws are tight and the wire is still in one piece.

If you have a MM just check coil that way. So much easier, hard to spot the little things that cause problems.

Allen wrench spot would be easy peezy too :)

The spool holder idea is a GREAT one, but the only metal I know how to work with s solder

But that spool idea... now thats a cool one, I bet they already make them maybe I'f I could find a spool dispenser I could add it into the design...

hmmm..... Stupid wheels...spinning...nauseous lol

Spool holder is easy, grove on each side with a piece of dowel rod between. Preferably with a small forward push at the bottom so it can't accidently be taken up. Or do a hole though each side of it with a handled rod that would slide through them and the spool, this option would be good for allowing re-spooling of non spooled wire.

As far as the metal plate, could get pre-cut pieces the size of the small name plates like you see on awards, only like maybe 1/2" x 1" and drill a very small hole in them, then the user could bend the end of the wire there keeping it from being able to move freely.

I just use normal wire dispensers and attach a clip to the end of the wire so it doesn't fly around.

Man, just googled wire dispenser and can't find anything cool.

I need to train my dogs to stalk ECF.

Not just ECF....

Lists for mods, sites that sell rare stuff once in a while. If you could train them to checkout too you'd be golden.

Of course you wouldn't just get mods in the mail, before you know it packages of chew toys and bones would be showing up.

Hey I'm not being greedy! Need to work with ECF first than work my way up to the more crazy stuff!

Clearly 1 click shopping doesn't work for my dogs. Maybe hamsters?

I just use something like this for my wire. Clip at the end of the wire so it doesn't untangle and make a mess.

I currently use a rubber band around the spool. Then bend the end of the wire over the rubber band.

There are several vendors on here Nancy that will sell you a nice stand and you can customize them.

I'm sure you could get what exactly what you wanted.

I just picked up a specific table stand for my genesis stuff that keeps the APV tilted so the wick stays saturated.

Yeah I have seen some of the stands here on ECF, and don't get me wrong they are nice, but not what I want. I think part of the problem for me is I did wood working for so long that I know how to do what I want, just don't have the tools anymore to do it.

Yea I make my own too. My gardener had to chop down a peach tree and it seemed a waste to throw out the trunk so I've bene using the trunk pieces to make simple stands.

Old picture, but you get the idea:

I'm a hack and have 0 talent for wood working.

My stands are about as simple as simple can be, but they are functional and do look pretty good.
