couple days ago I was reading some posts about people using isulators on the Ihybrid. Just out of curiosity how well did it work? The inner dia. of the ptfe on a BIC pen is so tiny. I cant imagine it wicked very well.

I've tried it sucks can't dry fire a lot else you melt it and then more issues..the easiest way I have found is to use the rolling paper method and wrap my coils off of device with mesh still on paperclip. I have made many this way with success and 0 any other way. Lmoa

Eh, if you're not having problems with shorts just skip the insulator. It does limit how fat you can make your wick.

Peter K method uses the theory Electricity follows path of least resistance. I guess thats why there is no need to torch the crap outa the wick.

I find oxidized wicks to wick better so I still like torching my wicks even when using Petar's method.

Edit: Nice pic landlord!

Also suggestions on polishing. Once you have sanded your barrel down to a nice fine and smooth finish, top it off with MOTHERS aluminum polish that you can buy at any local auto parts store. This will give it a super glossy and ultra reflective shine!

I have heard, but not tired it, that the BIC is similar in size to the Zen insulator.

I have personally used the Zen insulator, and it's not a bad wick size.
I have also used the inner most piece out of a carto, which is some type of material with a larger diameter.
Both have worked well, with decent size wicks.

Never got the chance to try tiny mode.
The hubby stole it.
I have a 9/11, should be here tomorrow, so I'll have to try out the small mode on that.
I like the battery life of the 18650 though.

Should I post a pic tomorrow of my black hole of a desk?
Shameful part is, I have a really nice holder.
