I use just under an inch of mesh in width and roll around a 16 gauge needle to make a straw.

Then I use a 1/3 rd piece of mesh and roll it tight then put it inside the straw I created. I think it wicks better personally.

Guess I need to cut down on my mesh.

When I played with the Petar method I was already playing with fat wicks (at least 2.5 inches or more).

Using a standard sized wick (using 1-1.5 inches of mesh) didn't feel like it was wicking enough.

The wick inside a wick is almost too much wicking. Can't even vape at 3 o'clock as it will over wick. I vape it at 4-5 and can't buy/borrow/beg/steal a dry hit.

LOL had that problem too. My answer was 325 wrapped around 400 wrapped around 500.

325 wrapped around 400 stopped the overwicking issue when tilted with a fat wick for me.

I think the approximately 1.25 inches of material between two wicks is about right for me anyway.

It doesn't flood and I can't get a dry hit no matter what. I use both 400 and 325, they work equally well.

Hmmm, so how to abuse your coil/wick setup to make it blow up?

Need an excuse to go try now.

Edit: Ezkill have you tried 500 yet? And can you tell the difference between 400 and 325? The only difference I can tell is artificially (since I'm not taking 15+ sec pulls) the 325 top coils get red a little faster.

Not sure if there should be a flavor difference. I remember somebody saying 325 tastes better (on another thread) but I haven't been able to tell yet.

Zen says that they wick equally well and the difference is 325 produces more throat hit. I tend to agree with what he's saying as I can't tell the difference in wicking. He would be the guy that knows :D

I'm not sure about 500 haven't tried it yet.

I followed a thread not to long ago where a guy was doing a lot of experiments with all the diff types of mesh and all his results concluded 500 beat all in results. And said the tighter, biggest with smallest hole in center finest wicks works the best

LOL read through all that but I found if you make the wick fat enough all of them wick equally well. The lower mesh counts just need to be a little fatter.

Was wondering if there was a TH/flavor difference which the guy didn't touch on (unless you're reading another thread, if so please link me!).

According to the Petar K Method in the Vaporwall forum....it's 2 mm I fairly certain. I was going to hardware today to pick one up, but didn't have the measurement with me. Ugh.

Can anybody verify the hole is the same size? I just assumed they were different and went rummaging for things to shove in the wick hole.

Wouldn't want Lady to waste money and time!

Here it is folks.....The Petar K Method: www.vaporwall.com • View topic - Unoxidised "genisis" SetUp (how to)

I'm going to try it too. He gives measurements of the drill bit, the nail, etc....right in the instructions. Combined with EzKill's instructions...this should be possible for even me to accomplish, eh? Let's hope so.

I'm caught up now. Good night all...see you tomorrow. This thread is starting to move so fast, I can't keep up....but that's good for Faceless :) Kudos!

LOL Evilferret...I guess it's the OCD in me, eh? I figure an investment of one little drill bit won't kill me....it's the hassle of getting JUST ONE without buy an entire set! Girls don't have much use for those LOL.

But, I am going to omit the GOOFY INSULTATOR....It's wearing me out! What a PITA! hehehe

G'nite all! Finally....I'm leaving this time! POOF!!!!

I swear this drill bit says 1/8th which would be over 3mm.

Depends though if you're using an insulator you could use a smaller drill bit that matches the internal diameter of the insulator. Roll your coil as described and then slip a pre-made wick through.,

Should work the same. I think it's so much easier to get nice and uniform coils with perfect spacing this way as well. Your wire will got a little lose around the drill but but no worries you can tighten it up when you do the top screw, just give it a little tug.

But if its not the right size you might have to start a drill collection to find the right one!

Night Lady! My google-fu fails me tonight, can't find the wick hole size for the Vaper.
