Stacy sorry to hear about your dog. That's tough. Makes my post above this seem pretty bad and distasetful...
Damn slow typers.
I had a dog that was dear to me. Named her Jita. That dog was with me
through thick and thin. Slept in my bed every night. My ex's hated her cause she always hated them. I loved her for that lol. She listened and was a total daddy's girl.
I was out of town working because money was tight and I get a phone call one night. My wife, she was hysterical. Told me that she had run over my dog in our own yard, took her to the vet and they wanted over $1k for a surgery she would need or she didn't have much of a chance for surviving. We couldn't afford the surgery but we tried to nurse her back to health. She was seeming to do better for the next few days but then she started having problems breathing one morning and she passed later that day.
I stayed with her the whole time and tried to make her as comfortable as possible. Even just typing it makes me get a knot in my
throat. Best damn dog I ever had. I still don't think I could own another dog and be able to love them like I loved Jita.
I had her creamated. Her and her collar have a place on the mantle.
These things hurt but they are all part of life. We all have to experience things like this in our time. In the end it's moments like these that make you appreciate your own life and your friends and family more.
Take this time to remember the good times and promise to have more of them with your friends and family that you still have. These are the ones that will help you
throuugh your most difficult times.
