@Emonty, the original HR render has a little to do with it. Locking the switch had another part, and being able to fire it from wherever however at whatever angle and grip with the bottom switch had a lot to do with it. I am not a fan of bottom buttons to start with. Hate the Zen switch. Dislike the Precise, but it does at least fire reliably and consistent, didn't sign on to the mac hybrid, nor sDog because of it, and am OK with the Paps style... OK, I actually like that Paps/GUS switch TBH.

I got this to try a iHybrid, based on Jamie's video showing that switch. I'll either like it or I won't. I understood a different locking switch without the lock ring was what was coming with the HR, not this. But Face seems to like it, so I guess I get to give it a try now.

I can't keep up with this thread. Is there a reason he is going to this?

He has to change the switch for insurance reasons.

Well not to tease anymore but....I had a good local friend over today who tried Faceless new atomizer and he was absolutely blown away by the flavor. Vaped back to back against 8 other atomizers with the same juice he had the same opinion I do: Holy Crap!

It's a winner. I loved the flavor from the orion and katana....but this one takes the cake in my opinion.
Can`t wait to try it, I will get rid of the stuff gathering dust when its released.

Call me a fanboy, but there are three purchases on my agenda:

1. Sweet Medicine (of course)
2. Synthesis
3. iHybrid Micro Ti

That is all.
Yeah what he SAID, Me too.

new switch???

I am on the fence, I really liked the switch on my IHY Spider, and Gruss REALLY LOVES his switch on the Illumiati so I was anxious to try that one. I do like the crenelated look and it WOULD look good on a Zombie LE. Some off my flashlights have a extreme crenelated bezel on them.

sorry I suck at videos

Love the look of the new switch and the fact that you can just put it down without locking....oh ya, this happened while gaming last night..

PS, Xbox, or PC???

when i watched the video it still appeared to work like the magic spring did, but we'll see

The magic spring referred to is the spring used in the zen devices which, apart from just being a spring, limits the current able to pass through. Converting the rest into heat. Hard to see all of that in that video...

Morning folks...

About the new switch. Some will love it, some will hate it. Some will think they hate until they try it. Some will hate it, try it and still hate it, try it some more and learn to love it. And unfortunately some will just plain love to hate it.

Sadly, that's just how these progressive type things work. A product comes out that every one learns to like through constant use but will eventually come a day when a change is needed. This isn't a change because face is bored, it's because his insurance tells him to. I gotta admit, it's hard to imagine my iHy's being "switched" up but we should keep in mind that it's face doing the switching, not the insurance company. He for one definitely doesn't want to make an inferior product and has just about as much desire to have the perfect vape as we do, If not more. In my mind if he says it's titts and we'll dig it, I tend to believe it's titts and we'll dig it :D

I think it's the change in aesthetics that has some of us concerned but that's partially because change is a shock initially. I say we let him do what he does before we get bummed out about it and at least try it out for a while before passing judgment. If after we use it and the majority still feels its inferior, well, we all should know he will take care of it. Just think of this as being a beta tester of sorts and let's have fun with it! :)

All true, still, he's asking for our opinion, not to kiss his .... (Or is he?)

Yes, but complaining over and over wont bring the old switch back. Products change and we have to trust the company, or in this case, the man. He asked for opinions, not for us to kiss his ..., but none of us have tried it yet. He doesn't like to disappoint and he created the iHy for his use, not to make money. If he likes it enough to produce 200 today, I would say a good majority of those 200 are gonna like the upgrade as well :). I'm sure if there are disbelievers after using, he will correct the problems. I, for one, am excited and can't wait! I belieeeve!

Good morning Hybreeds :)

So, I've been considering this button thing...
While its virtually impossible to pass judgment based on the pics and video, here are the observations I CAN make..

Appearance
I like the clean look, a lot...

"Lockability" (new word)
I don't like the fact that it can't be locked, but again, its hard to pass judgement on this portion without trying it out. I tend to put my devices all over the place, in the pocket of a laptop bag, etc... They fit great in there and stand straight, but there is risk it will fire unintentionally without some form of locking and I don't want to have to remove the battery to be sure..

Every other device in my rotation has some form of locking, Paps has a ring, current iHy has a ring, Zen's can be unscrewed one turn to ensure they won't fire, etc...

If you can't tell, this one is a concern...for me....

Usability
I too sold a P+ due to several issues with the button, but don't think any of us should be too hung up on this. The issues with the P+ were twofold in my opinion.
1 - It was tapered / narrower than the battery tube itself which caused stability issues, even locked, with most of what I put on it (genesis needs to stand..). This is a non-issue with the new iHy switch as it is as wide as the battery tube, which is already quite wide.

2 - Finding the sweet spot orientation wise was an issue for 2 reasons IMO. One, there are only really 2 ways to hold a P+ comfortably, the iHy switch addresses that mostly. Secondly, the throw on the switch was pretty long which exaggerated the issue. Also not an issue on the iHy...

Summary
Won't know until we try it... :2c:

Ok, I will make 200 or so tomorrow, finishing up flowers in morning also to take to anodizing, should have them by monday (hopefully saturday or friday) and I have to ship them off to get laser engraving, once I get them back I'll ship those out :) Hopefully before christmas :)

Woo! I think it'll be fun to swap in/out the two different designs...one of them will eventually reign supreme though.
