Well, they guy got very defensive because he said don't try this at home at on his post. He said I need to do some research before replying  I read again and his using twisted 28 g, 3 wrap...MNKE batteries.

I told him I am well aware of the battery differences. He said he did it because he CAN. Also, a couple of us were having the discussion the other day that there seem to be more fake MNKE batts floating around than real ones. The flashlight guys are concerned and they aren't sticking a potential pipe bomb up to their mouths!! Jerk.

Oh, and Keegan...there will be video, it is after all, a pissing contest ;) Probably gonna be edited, sorry.

Totally with you on this! What the heck is wrong with what we have? Is there really a need to strap jet engines an your car? Someone is going to get hurt.

Kind of along the same line on the "wicks" - sure they may work, but is the source really reliable? Don't get me wrong, I respect the source for his mod making abilities, and its fine if HE wants to do test (more than a month or two), but I think it not right to publicize it on forums where you can surely bet there will be a lemming-like effect, encouraging others to put themselves in possible danger. I shudder a bit when I imagine a scenario where vaping existed 30 years ago, and somebody saying, "Man! Check out these asbestos wicks! They're amazing"! I definitely would not be an early adopter, especially when good old stainless steel works just fine. There may be nothing wrong with this new wick type, but I dont want to gamble on it.

I can understand pushing the limits to further something we all love, but not at the risk of safety and health - after all, we quit smoking for safety and health, right?

Oh, and people are already racing to Petco to buy these ceramic filters to make the wicks...

I've yet to figure out the obsession with vaping aquarium supplies.

After watching the story unfold with the glass/pyrex/quartz tubes I think I'll just wait it out. My suspicion is that the aquarium stone stuff is not just pressed together but might have some binder. It's a suspicion but until I know more about it I'm not testing it out.

I still feel we're going to find out 10 years from now that vaping silica wasn't the best idea.

Seems the only argument we have against this is lack of knowledge and lack of long term studies, same arguments people are using when trying to ban Personal Electronic Nicotine Inhalation Systems.

I agree we need to use care to not give anyone any proof of why Ecigs are bad, even though the proof against stinkies is huge there's to much money in those.

Speaking of which, are the HR threads supposed to be anodized?

Sent from my phone.

Just make sure ends are shinny.
Before a little on edge.

Yeah, you really can't beat the price either...

I got an 18500, and absolutely love it.

Here's a pic with the top cap from the Paps on it (testing fit)..

I have a feeling the list should grow pretty fast.

(note that mine is custom and has an aluminum battery tube.)

That was my suspicion. Thanks for clearing that up  I remember there being an issue in the anodized finish on the battery tubes of the LE's that got plugged so the threads weren't anodized. I started putting two and two together when I saw the ends were clean of anodizing and assumed it was done that way to maintain continuity but I just wanted to know for sure.

I did this to my SW (note this is completely unneccessary, and I only did it because all parts that touch the threads are alum) but i do get 0v drop now on it
