Beautiful looking mod as usual form Cisco.

Only bad thing is every time i see your mods, i have to buy one more thing to try myself LOL.

What kind of switch is that btw?, is it one of the little RS squares?
looks 2 smooth on the top to be one, but maybe i'm wrong.

Great pics also, bet its a real nice camera.
Every time i see it i want to say it and i end up forgetting...that tongue is some scary sh_ _ !

This is just too cute. Very nice work.

Thanks Stormy

Cisco--another masterpiece my friend!!! Sure looks like a winner to me with good power-----Sun

Thank you my Sun....:D

Yes it does look great......

But to bad it's all in shop talk language. I still can't find any 101 instructions as how to mod any of the items that are posted.

Only "shop talk" chat.......very sad & disappointing for us greenhorns.

Sorry you feel that why Chee, there is a little bit of a learning curve to all these modifications, if you don't have at least some knowledge of electronics and such its going to tough to get a handle on modding. I think a good start would be a box mod, as there very straight forward and don't involve to much fabrication for the simplified ones.

The switch is a tact switch with a removable cap. Has a nice finish and its only 4.5mm. I don't buy from radio shack because the selection sucks and I get aggravated every time I go in there. I order online from Mouser,Digi-key,Newark these are top notch electronics supplies, your mind will explode when you see the stuff that's available.

The switches are from Mouser.com the part#'s are

mouser part# 101-TS7311T1604BC-EV tactile switch 0.16
mouser part# 101-0200-EV black switch cap 0.12

That is .28 cents per cap and switch

The switch caps come in blue, green, black, ivory, red, and yellow

I think its time to change my avatar....:D

Oh, Goooodie, Gooooodie Gum drops.....Yeah, finally something real simple!

Thank you so very much. FYI: I just made a financial planner join this forum, as he is a tweakier (he's working on a hydrogen gas thing a ma jig) for the car, so that he could help me out with this project.
But now, with your generosity, I can try making my own. Yeah.
And they work GREAT , AND are pretty durable!and You're very welcome.
Good luck!

Thanks for posting the link sMuCk

another nice one cisco, have you had any trouble with those tact switches, I'm jones'n
to use one in my next build but the thought of having issues while I'm on set away from my shop makes me think twice.
When's Mrs. Cisco gonna make you have a garage sale and pair down on the fog machines?

I have had no problems at all with these tact switches, I don't even worry about it.

Mrs. Cisco thinks I need psychiatric care at this point. I'm in my basement all the time. I cant look at anything anymore without thinking "I could mod that thang". The plus side is I have quit analogs, the day after I got my first PV was the last analog I ever had, and that was 4 months ago.

My pleasure Cisco...I've done mods on all different sized Batt boxes in all combinations of batterys,as well as some copper pipe mods ,but I could never engineer the things that you make look so easy.
I'm a Big admirer of your modding talent!

Me too can't wait to see it. I agree with Smuck (btw: I know what that name means.....:lol::lol:) that your mods are very creative.

Gosh, you must get such a feeling of accomplishment. I wish that I too understood electronics. But I guess your right, its a learning curve and practice makes perfect. So I better get cracking. Here in Toronto, on College St near Spadina are a couple of blocks of cheap tekkie stuff. I think that I will find a lot of supplies down there.

Thanks again Cisco & Smuck for sharing.

(btw: I know what that name means.....:lol::lol:).

In Los Angeles, as a child of the 60's, I remember being bombarded daily with all the smog warnings on radio
and TV .
One day I saw a car with a bumper sticker that said
"Smuck Fog" I got it immediatly, and busted up laughing!

My friends who were looking at it as well kept asking if I was ok, and asking what was so funny about a bumper sticker that made no sense at all.

I guess having an older Brother who was always
backing talkwards around the house came in handy that day.
Thanks ,and Take Care.

hi cisco nice clean work as always are you running the switch on the pos or neg and is the atomiser thread housing negative through the body? also thankyou v much for the credit

Thanks wishbone, and your welcome on the credit...:)

I know its probably safe to have the body as the positive contact but I am just not comfortable doing it that way.
The body is the ground. The ground runs through the body for the atty ground also (no separate ground wire). The rear on/off click disconnects the ground. There is only 1 wire and 2 solder joints in the head piece. One leg from the tact is soldered directly to the brass center contact. The only wire goes from the other leg on the tact to the center post on the atty.
