Someone has to say it. This is soooo wrong! Copy someone elses idea and offer it for sale with flashing lights and all. Nice job on the mod but really don't you feel any shame in offering this for sale to the public. I mean selling a few no problem. I just have a problem piggy backing someone elses product. All you had to do was find a different body instead of stepping on someone elses research and development. Oooohhhh I love flashing lights, ridiculous. You should review the law before you proceed much further.

My initial post was only to show off my mod. I took the most popular mod by Trog and also Screamers acyclic bushing idea and made my own and I gave them both credit.

Because of the overwhelming response and the fact that I am already placing a large order to make a bunch more for friends I thought it would be a good idea to make a few more for other people. I am not selling these commercially nor am I opening up a web site to sell them. But If someone likes my mod why wouldn't I make one for them?

With no dis-respect to Trog he doesn't own the sole rights to mod the romisen rc-a8 nor does he own the sole rights to sell them. I should read the law? The original rc-a8 is already someone elses intellectual property.

The only thing similar about Trogs mod and my mod is milling off the flashlight head, other then that everything is different. It's not like I am taking Trog's screwdriver and re-modding it and then re-selling it. If I do sell my mod I will call it nothing, its just a mod. IMO Trog owns the "Screwdriver" trademark and I would not take that from him.

More power to ya Cisco. I think you should market the hell out of your mod. A similar product to the Screw Driver is great competion. Market it in the U.S., that way American's won't have to shell-out $150.00+ for a comparable product.
You've got one foot through the doorway, might as well take another full step!

It's a tough one Kit. In reality the SD is a modified torch, just like this one. I don't know but I'm guessing trog hasn't got a legal leg to stand on being where the body is sourced from, ethically it's another matter but Cisco hasnt mentioned going into this in a commercial sense.

I've always said it's not the SD itself (although a great e-cig ) but what trog has under his belt is the concept of using a big off the shelf battery and standard atomizers. the SD was the first and all others are followers.

Look at the GG, the Prodigy and even the Janty stick, they all use trogs original concept and I know 2 of those have given credit for that, and they are all commercial products made available to anyone who's willing to pay for one for profit. The difference being that they have all designed, patented and Manufactured the body from scratch.

Now if trog designed, patented and manufactured the body there may be a patent issue , but we all know how it's made.

People all know of my thoughts on SD copies and variations , nothing changes. If Trog doesn't like people doing it , then it's his perogative to do something about it, not mine. I'm done fighting the cause.

Thanks for the credit you gave me for the LED idea. I have been very busy and have not been on the forum for awhile, I was happy to see your mod and think you did a great job.
I also had people P.M. me about buying my mod, but do not have the time to make any right now. I think it would be great if you did make some for sale as the LED is so cool at night.
I think Trog should look at some of the mods that are around here and maybe offer some upgrades or even some new models.
After I made my mod I seen my first "REAL" screwdriver, they are made very well but need to be improved.
I think the switch design is crap and should be relocated like we did to prevent it from getting broke if you drop it.
I already have a new mod that I'm working on that has another new design element that has not been seen yet.
