I was just so gosh danged excited at first; I was e-mailing family members saying, paraphrasing, "This gives you EVERYTHING a cigarette gives you without the carcinogens." I bought Snus but they don't fill in what I'm missing. If I hadn't read on this board about others not getting that total cig feeling, I would have just thought it was psychological and probably pushed through. Oh well... My banner is wrong cuz I'm still smoking, but I vape more and more and smoke less and less (and I steady vape on the subways and in NHL hockey games :) )

I usually vape 18mg, but then I chain vape. However, for stressfull times, I have a bottle of no-taste 36mg standing here, and if I need it, I just put two drops of it into whatever atty I am using at the time. Which is something that happens every couple of days.
However, when I started, 18mg was not enough, back then I vaped 24, and other people do vape 36 for a while. So you might want to give this a try.

Also, do check out the smokeless section. 80% of all vapers get by with vaping alone, the other 20% need something else from tobacco as well. There are however considerably better options than analogs. (In fact, everything is a better option than inhaled smoke!)

Reading through everyone's posts there does seem to be a need to start out high ~ No, no, nic high.....I got some 16mg carts with my NPro, but quickly went to 24mg Johnson Creek (loved that stuff, Original tobacco flavor!) before I could really get a grip on the 'panic' button...I was a very heavy smoker for 44 years. I did manage to stay off cigarettes from day one, only because they tasted soooobad and smelled even worse! Vaping to me was CLEAN, so it did help. I did have a lot of high~energy and tremendously starving to death, so was in withdrawal for the first couple months. After that time went by, I actually cut back to 18mg, then again down to 12mg with no further withdrawal symptoms. VERY easy! Have been at that level for awhile now, but am very comfortable, and my juice intake is also steadily falling. (Some days not so much!) I also tried 36mg, but one cart made me very ill so got rid of it!
Just remember what you're NOT getting with e-cigs, about 4000 things I can think of. Makes it worthwhile, for sure. Like starting life over!

Hey wutzthedeal, don't worry about it! If you gotta smoke a few analogs to get you through, then go right ahead. This isn't a race, and not everyone who vapes quits smoking. Just look at it like a victory every time you do manage to avoid one. Just cutting back is still better than nothing.

I'm curious about people who still got a buzz when they smoked. How much, how often, and for how long did everyone smoke? The reason I ask is because, after smoking a pack/pack and a half a day for almost 20 years, the only time I still got that buzz was when I had to go for hours without one (and then only if I smoked it really fast). Even my first smoke of the day no longer gave me a buzz.

I realize everyone's smoking experience was/is different. I'm just curious if I'm alone in not missing the buzz because it's been such a long time since it was a common occurrence.

No your not alone! I was actually going to ask the same thing?
I havent' gotten a buzz from the smoke sticks, since I first started smoking, & that was a really long time ago.
OP -I have been smoking a few cigs a day for the past month now, but can't seem to get off the last few. I personally feel that I just need to just push myself a little harder and just give them up. I've been struggling with lately, but my goal was to quit by my b-day which is in 10 days...so I really need to just suck it up and do it! So don't be hard on yourself, you'll get there & I know I will too.
