I love my Lavatube. I had some concerns at first because of the size. They quickly went away and these days, I don't care about curious stares anymore. You will get used to the size in no time. Forget the stares, if they want to know what you are smoking - heck, just ask and I'll demonstrate/tell you. :)

Same here. The size isn't really too bad. It's not your best portable PV. I usually take an eGo or something smaller with me when I go out.

Just an FYI, I recently had a lavatube start firing on me by itself. This seems to be a common error with lavatubes (not all but a small amount). I'm going to be getting a provari soon, but I liked the lavatube to buy another one in the meantime. If you want to get into vv vaping on the cheap, you can't beat it. Liberty flights has them for super cheap. I think mine was barely over $50 with shipping (make sure to take advantage of their 20% off all the time coupon code).

Check out this thread. It's got plenty of info on the lavatube.

I can tell you too, that you lose the fear of being stared at in no time. It really doesn't happen that often.

The "mini" Lavatubes are shorter than the Twists, and only 1/4" bigger around.
You can get one of the Lavatube minis. Apolloecigs has a 30% off sale with code Vtube30. $50/Alum. $60/Chrome and $73/stainless steel. Those are for the full kits, mini or full sized. You can get the Lavatube only for $39/alum $46/chrome. These are the same chrome ones volcano sells for $100.

BTW. The random firing thing happened in a few of the version 1.5's, so it's not exactly a common error. Apollo has the the original versions, made by a different manufacturer. They're a way better product than any disposable, limited voltage range Twist and the mini is shorter than the 650mah Twist. The Twist will be dead before the warranty runs out on the Lavatube.

For those interested, here's a picture of my mini lavatube next to a 1300mah Echo. It's a bit bigger, but I got used to the size pretty quick.

I don't know what the call them in Oz, but that's not a Lavatube, mini or otherwise. They're called a Vari-Volt, among other things, here. They're fairly close in size to the mini LT though. The 650mah Twist is only slightly shorter than that Echo. The 1000mah Twist is considerably taller than either one of those. It's about the height of the Echo with that carto attached.

My g/f was using the LavaTube and I loved all the vap that came from it but i was worried about the size it is huge and I dont want people always looking at me like im nuts do you reccomend another unit/company that will give the massive vap but maybe a smaller unit? Please help ecig extreme novice!!!!!!!!!!!!

Honestly? I would give you this advice: :censored: 'em. Don't worry about people looking at you. I've taken my Vector Variable Volt (pretty much a Lavatube) out with me plenty of times. They won't look at you any differently if you take a Twist or anything else out there. Until you're comfortable with vaping in the open, it's gonna be hard for you to do it no matter what you're using. If you're getting off the stinkies and it helps you, it doesn't matter what anybody thinks. Do what's good for you and forget the public perception!

IMAG0041.jpg Many vendors sell VV box mods. They are small and very powerful. You could also get a GLV super mini and use LR cartomizers, that would give you a nice strong vape and a tiny form factor. This is my GLV mini next to a tube of chapstick for reference, the super mini is even smaller. You could hide it in your closed hand and no one could see it.

I'm like you, I don't like extra attention when I vape.

I like the look of the GLV however, isn't a bright yellow one a bit bright if you want to be subtle? :)

If you use an eGo twist you are going to be dissappointed after using a larger VV. I just got a Vapor-tube from Vapor Phoenix in the mail today and it kicks my last VV in the ..... It appears to be the same exact thing as a Lavatube. I tried a friends eGo twist that she was so excited about and it didn't produce the same vapor and the vapor was never warm.

Suck it up and use the big mod ... it's worth it and it make for a good conversation piece.

I think so too. A lot of people are put off by the stacked batteries, but I ain't skeered. They're only about $20-30 around here and the only thing that kind of puts me off about them is the 2amp limit. I can live with 2.5amps, like the 1st gen. Lavatube, but 2amps is going a bit far, IMO.

I have read that stacked batteries are dangerous.
