I have only been DIY'ing a short time, but already certain laws are manifesting themselves to me:

Law #1 - When you come upon an interesting recipe, you will always be missing one, and only one, ingredient.

Law #2 - When ordering a myriad of supplies and flavors, you will always omit one important item. This item will come to mind immediately after hitting the "place your order" button.

Law #3 - After tweaking and tweaking and tweaking a recipe by adding a drop of this and a drop of that (and so on), you will find it to be your favorite recipe only to realize that you have no idea how to replicate it.

Law #4 - Your significant other will at some point ask you just how many bottles of juice do you really need anyways.

Law #5 - At some point, a relative or close friend will stop by and see you with a few bottles and a syringe on the kitchen counter and give you a look like "crap, I knew he was up to something but never did I suspect this!"

Law #6 - From time you time, you will have minor spills which prompt questions such as "Why does the whole house smell like peanut butter and chocolate?"

These are the laws that I have discovered to date and I'm sure there are many more.

#3 applies when you forget to label a bottle also ! I'll run out, then grab some "mystery bottle" that I was tinkerin with weeks before and get blown away by how awesome it tastes. But can't replicate it because I didn't label the bottle...

The spousal unit bought me a label maker - it's been great. I have to force myself to be organized, so when I do cleanup I either label the bottle or pitch it - otherwise I'd get really lost :)

Law #7 (The law of overflow)
No matter how much advanced planning you put into it, the there-is-no-way-I-could-ever-fill-this-organized-storage-unit-with-mixing-supplies will be overflowing at some point.

Law #8 (The law of combinations)
Combinations that sound great in your head sometimes are the most horrible thing you've ever tasted. Combinations that you only attempt because you are mix-drunk sometimes are the most wonderful thing you've ever tasted. The flavoring that makes a recipe "just right" is never the first thing you think it should be.

Law #9 (Hoosier's Law)
That flavoring you added to the cart because you just had to try it right away will sit around for so long that you will forget about it until searching for another flavor you forgot to order.

Law #10 (The Law of Cloning)
That commercial liquid you have, which has been your 'go-to', or everyday vape, will be practically impossible to recreate in your DIY setting. Try as you might, there is a certain 'je ne sais quoi', a nuance, that you will struggle to reproduce.

Now this makes me sad, as I've been trying to recreate the spousal unit's go-to juice (DK-TAB) which one would think would be fairly simple. So far I've found exactly one place that sells genuwyne Dekang DK-TAB in VG, and paying $14 for 30ml irritates me as if I wanted it in PG I could buy it all day long from healthcabin for ten bucks per 50ml.

TPA's DK-TAB concentrate ain't it - it ain't even close.

But I digress.

ETA: Great topic!

Law #14 (The We-Need-You-Right-Now Law)

All of your 2 or 4-legged children are completely content until you get up to your elbows in "the lab", then suddenly everyone has to go potty and is starving to death.

I think my 2-year-old daughter made you type that one
