The worst is measuring in drops...which can change depending on your equipment, what you are using (VG and PG drops are very different sizes), and temperature.
The problem is most of us only have access to equipment that lets us measure amounts bigger than around 0.5mL with any accuracy.

I've been rolling my own since March and have yet to have a problem mixing with drops or syringes for larger quantities. Where problems surface is when folks share recipes and the receiver's equipment may not be the same. This is understood amongst us. Furthermore, taste is very subjective and the majority of recipes will need fine tuning to your tastes.

All my recipes have been fine tuned using my own calc and, it doesn't matter the qty I want to make, they always come out the same regardless of the amount mfrd. I use a flat standard of 22 drops/ml in my recipes, for everything. Now this may not be accurate for all liquids and I know that. The standard used is not important, what is, is using the same standard all the time.

While we're on Calcs, the one I'm trying to find is a simple one that will convert the VG/PG ratios and nicotine concentrations.

Example: I have 250ml of 48mg nicotine at 50% PG and 50% VG. Using that I want to create 100ml of 75%VG and 25%PG at 18mg nicotine strength. How much of my base do I start with and how much VG and PG do I add to get to 100ml....75/25....18mg?

I'll be the first to admit I have problems working the calc programs, but can anyone tell me which one of those will actually do that computation? Once I'm sure of the one, I'll beat it to death until I figure out how to work it.

Or of course you can just use cups if you are making up 100 20ml bottles. One cup of 48mg nic one half cup of vg one half cup of pg and one third cup of flavoring. It gives you right around 20mg and plenty of flavor. However I do agree we should all switch to metric for everything!!!! Don't even get me started on tools, arrgggggg. I mean come on why not just make things easy???

OK 16mg is much more simple. You just have to cut it by 2/3 If it's already 50% pg just add 66ml liquid. So if you want extra flavor lets say 20% you would put in 20ml of flavoring and 47 ml of VG. 33ml nic plus 20ml flavoring plus 47ml vg that would get you pretty close. So 18mg would just be 36ml nic 20ml flavoring and 37ml vg. Thats not exact but very close.

Springbirds calc will do that for you. 37.5ml nic, 15ml flavour, 41.25ml PG and 6.25 VG

.......I can do the math. IRL, the percentages and ratios won't be "round" numbers and the whole point is to have a calc that makes it easy to plug in any number and get the answer.

@Parallex2: Try this ... Calculator. It took me only a couple minutes of juggling to get the mix you wanted. Nope, not very sophisticated, but it works.

Help me juggle. When I enter the starting nic mg and the VG/PG ratio, where do I enter the target nic mg and the new ratio I want to produce.... and get the amount of PG/VG to add?

Thanks

Parallex, When I put your numbers into Breakthru's calc the only way to get it to work was to enter 0% flavoring and it says to use
37.5ml nic juice
6.25ml PG
56.25ml VG

But..... Later on when you go to make a recipe with flavoring you will NOT end up with 18mg nic. Is that what you intended? Your final brew to be about 14mg nic strength with 15% flavor?
