Hi ECF members!

completely new to vaping, also new to the site.. i've been a newport smoker for quite a while, my friend was telling me about e-cigarettes, so i googled it. now this sleek, sharp e-cigarette came up, known as 'luci'.. and of course, jumped right on the order form. lol. i got the starter kit, as well as a extra 5-pack, anxious to ue it, may come in on thursday of this week. the question is; does anyone know how well this is? pros and cons?

thanks in advance!

i am new on here but i have the luci along with others. good and bad reviews. i love mine its small sleek and looks fancy. it has a nice draw on it. i did find that their carts last longer than if you fill them yourself. other than that its a good start, and is the one i use to go out and show people . other than that Joye 901 all the way :)

I just started vaping last week with Luci, before then i rolled my own menthol cigarettes without filters so i was thinking that i wouldnt be satisfied with the nicotine content of the product. Like what was said above, the Luci cartridges did not last me long at all, i think i burnt through all 5 of them in less than the first day. So i picked up a 15 ml bottle of e juice at a smoke shop and filled them myself and let me tell you, thats the way to go. They last much longer and more vapor! I am totally satisfied and have not lit up since. As for the unit itself, it looks nice and i enjoy showing it off. it is a bit heavy, i like to go hands free sometimes but its not practical.

Luci was my first PV too and fell in love with them (aesthetics are extremely important to me... I didn't want an ugly white and tan wanna-be cigarrette). Luci's look beautiful. Anyway... I soon realized that these are soooooooo expensive compared to others out there. Blus are much similar and are way cheaper, performing the same and are also small and black/gold. Also similar are volcano e-cigs. I highly recommend you re-fill your carts and also buy replacement parts (attomizers... carts) from blucigs.com or volcanocigs.com as they are HALFTHE PRICE and in my opinion perform the same. I loved the Luci, but why so expensive?

Luci, Blu, and Volcano have interchangeable parts in my experience. Check it out! ;)

I too started out with the Luci system. I almost quit vaping because I figured all e-cigs worked the same. Besides the lack of flavor and vapor from the carts that didn't even last as long as the battery (they practically wouldn't last long enough for the other to re-charge), it was an automatic.

The best thing that happened to me was I walked off leaving my Luci with the one atty somewhere. I went to the site and saw they charged $30 for an atty and said forget it. Fortunately while searching for a better e-cig, I found ECF and DonDaBoomVape's tutorial that included a comparison of different models.

I already had $45 worth of replacement cartridges on the way. I sent those puppies right back. I picked up the Hello 016 system and found vape heaven. Even when I picked up a basic 510 kit, it blew the Luci out of the water.

Some people prefer to stay with the Luci and the other brands you see on those paid review sites because they like the way they look. I really think most are shell companies. Even their websites look identical except for the e-cig model. Me, I'm perfectly happy with my Hello, eGo and Riva kits that don't look like a real cig. Not to mention you can pick up all three named kits with a combined price lower than the Luci kits.

The most important aspect is; whatever works for you. It's your money to spend as you wish. Also be aware that it's more or less the norm for we newbies to pick up multiple kits and styles. Don't be surprised if the bug hits you to. Regardless of which system you start with.

BTW, welcome to ECF!:vapor:

I agree with this to an extent, but Volcano seems to be different that the others. I am aware that the kit is the same, but they also sell the Magma, which is a 510 model, and the prices on replacement parts are waaay better from them.

I do not own one of these mass market e-cigs, I did get a joye306 from Drew of Inhaler when I met him in Tampa, but all being said, Volcano seems like a better company to me.

I have eGo, MEGA eGo, Hello, DSE905, 510, MEGA510, KR808D, DSE808, Janty Stick, and SD MKII.

I prefer the Hello 016. Call me wierd, but using cartomizers without the stupid cone atty it is a GREAT battery. PLUS they are cheap.

Thanks for verifying my warning to the OP not to expect to stick with one model! LOL I don't know if I've ever went to the Volcano site. Well one of these companies also has to be the parent. Maybe it's Volcano. I know I would make my product better. Is it listed on those phony review sites/ads?

I learned the Luci's battery is a 510 or 306 auto. I know the atty looked like a 306 but from what I've heard about the 306's performance, I doubt that's what the Luci use as it produced weak vapor and flavor and I hear the 306 is a powerhouse.

I too prefer my Hello, I don't use the conamizers because I use LR attys. I have adapters for 901 and 801 so I use their LR with my big batts. I think I've settled on the upcoming Precious L as my mod choice. I TRULY hope I will stop buying hardware after that. But I won't wouldn't stake much on it. LOL Attys of course excluded.

Hey does the Volcano ship out of Memphis? That's one sign that those others are made by the same company. You can track down their warehouse just outside of Memphis.

We all have our preferences and changing tastes. I didn't even want to warn the OP what's going to happen once he discovers the good juice vendors. Didn't want to scare him (or his mail person) away.

Not here.
I just checked the Luci website and the prices are outrageous! If it's the look you're going for, I can't say I see much difference between it and a 501. Is that a 306 atomizer? If so, you can get them for 1/2 to 1/3 the price from Cignot and they fit the 501 battery. Anyway, Luci is a total rip-off as far as I can tell, but if it helps you to lower your cigarette intake and makes you happy, go for it!
