The Mad Maxx HERO Atomizer from ElectroVapors

Hey all,

I am still getting settled into my new apartment but since I have some time to gather my thoughts I decided to post a review for one of my new favourite atomizers on the market; The MadMaxx HERO atomizer.

This atty can be purchased through eV and is built with a very unique and functional design. It is first and foremost a 510 design and at first glance there is not much difference. However, the HERO is bridgeless - that's right - bridgeless, with a small plate covering the coil and wicking inside the actual atty. The plate has 3 holes to allow juice flow and in the last few weeks that I have been using it I have not had a single issue with juice splash back that is common with de-bridged atties.

Now, I have been a dripper as well as a de-bridger since before the Janty eGo even came out on the market. In those days de-bridging provided a nicer TH and vapour production than a stock 510 and, since there was literally no such thing as an LR atty at the time, it was one of the mods that kept me vaping.

Since I started doing this mod I have basically been removing the bridge on any 510 (from Joye to Cisco) because it simply gives a warmer, more flavourful hit versus a stock atty. However due to the delicate process involved in modifying the atty not many people had the same experiences with them that I did. Some people had hot juice spitting onto their tongues, severe leakage and some even found the atties to produce less vapour than when they started out in the first place.

For those reasons alone, I can't suggest for many others to go out and get a 510 just to debrdge it. It does work for some but definitely not the layman who merely wants to plug and play their device... Well, the HERO takes out all of the guess-work and messing with tweezers and allows true plug and play with a bridgeless 510 atty.

The HERO is meant to be used with a Mad Maxx ALTER eGo (also available from eV) at 4.2 volts, however I don't own that device and have been using it with a Joye eGo as well as a Riva battery, which are at 3.3 volts roughly. So please keep this in mind while I describe the following values for TH, vapour production and etc. Also, due to my lack of a Multimeter, I can't test the oHms of this atty to be certain what it's rating is.

HERO Stats

Throat Hit - The TH with this atty really surprised me. I have mostly been using Cisco atties as well as Ikenvape atties respectively. If I had to put it on a scale from 0 to Cisco (10) I would rate it a solid 8. The vapour is a touch cooler than a Cisco but roughly on par with an IKV.

Vapour Production - VP is roughly at par with an Ikenvape atty and that is a commendable amount of vapour. If I had to give it a 0-10 it would be a 9.

Flavour - Now this is where things get interesting. The flavour on the HERO is outstanding. I have mostly vaped Henseng Chocolate Strawberry on it and with any other atomizer or carto all I could taste was strawberry with maybe a hint of chocolate. With the HERO I can taste the chocolate and strawberry equally and it is simply delicious. I have switched from Choc/Strawberry to Juicy Peach and while there was a bit of flavour staining it didn't last very long and within a half hour of using the new juice it was completely gone. 0-10 on this is a 10.

My Honest Opinion

I am very impressed with this atomizer and couldn't be more thrilled that there is finally a serious contender to the classic Cisco/ IKV quality in the dripping atty world. I simply love mine and hope to run it at 4.2 volts sometime soon to see how this baby runs as it was designed for. However, it is still good to know that if you are like me and don't have VV (yet!), a 4.2 volt device or etc and are just a standard 3.3/ 3.7 volt vaper you can still enjoy this awesome little atty.

I would highly suggest these atties to anyone who wants to go bridgeless without any of the pain of modding your own atty and also anyone who wants a quality LR atty that isn't your typical IKV or Cisco.

Take care folks and as I haven't said enough recently; I would rather vape on my feet than smoke on my knees.

Thanks for reading! :vapor:

Interesting review :) I am glad the industry is finally stepping up with quality products. Thanks for sharing :)

Thanks Switched!

It's really about time IMO that someone else finally stood up and started making a unique, quality atomizer. Time will have to tell about the longevity and the functionality at the proper 4.2 volts but so long as the flavour isn't sacrificed I will be a VERY happy camper.

I have recently discovered Bridgeless atomizers as well. Didn't know what the fuss was but I got the Bridgeless 510 atty that Adam (CanVape) carries and I have to admit, they are significantly better than standard 510 atties. Better everything -- TH, vapor and flavour. I haven't tried the Mad Maxx one from EV but if it's anything like the one CanVape carries, either one is totally worth checking out if you're into dripping. It really did surprise me. (My review, for anyone interested.)

Gotta pick up more, because I almost don't want to use my other atties when I drip for reviews.

These should be the exact same atties and they are still one of my favorite atties to this day. I tend not to us them on my Lavatube because they leak a bit but once I get a reo it will probably never leave the device. Stellar flavour, stellar TH and exactly on par with the highest quality atties on the market today!

Actually I found the opposite. For some reason I was able to put more drops in mine and it held on to the juice surprisingly well, which was a nice bonus. Could be manufacturing variances though, maybe mine had slightly more wick or something. Either way, excellent dripping atty. I'm halfway tempted to try and use it on the Boge Revolution, even though it's not made for atties and has no drip well, but I'm afraid of getting juice where it has no business being.
