So I've been playing with this folded-28g kanthal, with different mesh sizes. My first go @ this was on my Aga Hydra (smaller wick hole) 325 mesh, ~ 65 mm small hole in center. 4 wrap folded 28 g kanthal 0.6Ω. Turned out great.

Next, I wicked and coiled my standard Did. I thought 'with the coil ohming out this low, maybe more wicking material with a finer weave will really improve the wicking, and the vape.' 400 mesh, 90 mm, small hole in center. Same coil wrap. 0.7 Ω. Nice vape. Reduced throat hit. BIG TIME. I like to wake up to a nice 24 mg Ry4 before pulling a graveyard shift.

I really wanted that Did vape to satisfy. Nothing wrong, like a hot leg, or loose wrap, or poopey taste, or anything. Just, a hum-ho vape. I found that I just kept reaching for that first set-up, with the Aga Hydra and the 325 mesh.

So, I got home today, after car trouble all week and a crap shift. Did my chores, and decided to unwind by winding more coils. I figured well, lets try doing this folded 28 g kanthal wrap onto 50 mm 270 mesh straws. If it works, yayy. If not, no harm/no foul. I have a ton of this 270 mesh.

Coiled the Did with 4 wrap folded 28 g kanthal. 50 mm 270 mesh. Rolled onto a 5/64 Allen key. Installed this onto my Did. I have another thread on how I do this. 0.5Ω. I had to undo the neg screw, and ease up on my tension, as my straw wick had thinner walls, and would shrink down. Pulsed out the coil. Re-inserted the 5/64 Allen key between pulses, to keep wick bored out. This was the Hydra, that I coiled the other day.

But you get the idea.

I juiced the coil/wick. I really did not expect any success. I was wrong :D

The vape is thick, and the throat hit is out of this world. This is what I expected, from vaping. It is not hot, either. Just a very rich flavor, and great nic kick.

I have never been to a brick-and-mortar store. Nor, have I ever met any 'cloud chasers', or seen a cloud competition. The juice I have in this build is 60/40 PG VG. The vapor production, tho, is amazing. I don't know if I will ever get a chance to see one of these cloud contests. ( would most definitely be a fun time, tho).

I was never looking to try to get as low as I could, with resistance. Nor will I. But I can definitely vouch for the merits and the pleasure that you can experience, from a sub-ohm build. I want to be as safe as I can, with this. Right now, I have AW IMR 18650 1600 mAh batteries powering this. These builds will stay @ home, for now. At least until RTD gets more Sony VCT4's in stock ;)

I have been an ex-smoker for 7 1/2 years. I quit, when my divorce was final. Quitting, for the first year-and-a-half, or so, was absolutely miserable. But my finances at the time, and my health, made it imperative that I did so.

For the first time, I feel that my naughty, persistant, nicotine needs have FINALLY been met :D
