it's a phoenix knockoff, really simple (doesn't port the air up through the bottom under the coil like some), really cheap. I have a couple of them and like them a lot, just gotta be careful not to flood it.

It's definitely an ERA clone, not a Phoenix clone (don't know why some vendors call it that)

The ERA came out first, and is pretty spendy around 70-80 bucks. Full stainless deck and top cap. I think it comes from Budworx from the Philippines.

Then Smoktech made the rda, which was basically an oversized ERA clone.

There were several other ERA clones, and then the Smoktech mini RDA which is a more accurate clone of the original ERA than the RDA was. I have ERA clones that are full stainless (cap and deck) partially stainless (stainless cap with plated deck) and I have the ST aluminum ones which have an aluminum cap and plated deck. Other variations between the clones are different binding posts (thumscrews, phillips head, tiny allen screws) and slightly different center post insulators and center positive pin on the 510 connection. O-rings around the deck vary from black, to clear, to that odd red/orangeish color.

The ERA clones go by many names, but they all trace their lineage to the ERA.

Agreed, it's an ERA clone except the clones aren't offered in bottom feed config. Never heard of them called Phoenix clones. The SS clones are the Phoenix v4 which is the clone. The larger Smoktech RDAs are also called the Octopus with the odd air hole through the base. The mini Smoketech RDAs are also called the Squid which is more close to a ERA except they are brass & aluminum with thumbscrews.

I have 3 versions of this ERA clone, use them a lot. One has philips screws with no holes in the posts, the other 2 have holes in the posts, on with thumb-screws and the other with hex screws. All perform the same. They work for me as I highly prefer small drippers. They can also be found dirt cheap and many come with nice stainless steel drip tips that are worth the price alone.

If you like the ERA clone, I also suggest the IGO-S, which has a small drip well, philips screws and holes in posts. Also the A6, available with 1 or 2 negative posts, philips screws and holes in posts, and a deeper drip well that's more functional than the IGO-S. These two are about the same size as the ERA clones.
