Got first RDA today, smoktech squid

Hey vapeland, so after a while of doing research and looking up models and batteries and just about everything i could on rda/RBA. I went in to my local store Happy Vaper, and bought a smoktech squid. This at first appears to be a small version of the octopus but after talking with the guy at the store he said that the air hole is in better position on the smaller squid then it is on the octopus. i spent about $8 on this rda. Got it home, and it already had a 1.7ohm wrapped coil with wick which was perfect for a first timer.


So i popped it on my battery, tested resistance and it showed 2.0 ohm's. pretty good for a premade that came with it, so i gave it a shot and put some Killa Nilla from Delaware Vapor on it and i fell in love. This thing had amazing flavor and nice clouds. This is the beginning of my RDA journey and i made a good choice for starting out. If anyone has any comments, or advice on best places to get silica and kanthal im all ears

Try using cotton for wicking easy and cheap. Check out ebay and amazon for kanthal

when using cotton, do i prewrap the coil using something like a screw then feed the cotton through the coil? or is that just one way?

Go to Temco's website for the cheapest bulk kanthal wire. I just bought 100ft of 32awg for $5. As for wicks, I just buy Ekowool from Amazon; which is probably not the cheapest.

That's a pretty popular way of doing it. You can wrap the coil around a 1/16 drill bit or a needle.
