By the way, I am running this Mummy wick on a Lemo Drop, 1.5ohms at 25.1 watts, and it is fantastic, not even a hint of a dry hit, and lots of tasty vapor. So a big thanks to 3alouka, this works well.

You're welcome, i'm really glad it worked for you, i'm also running it in my Lemo, stock prebuilt coil reading 1 ohm, and i finally got the guts to take it up to 27 watts. I do prefer that the flavor wick goes all the way from side to side, resting on the lower deck or slightly above it, and not depending on the main wick for wicking. The reason i'm saying this is that the next day after rewicking my KFL+ clone, bunny ears method and laying a flavor wick over the main wick shoulders, i lost the flavor and the vape tasted burned. When i dismantled for rewicking, the flavor wick was burned, the coil was gunked, but the main wick was really clean. I guess this means the flavor wick, depending on the main wick to get the juice, was not wicking as good as the main wick.

Hmm I'm gonna have to try this on my Lemo as well. I can't seem to get consistent builds with wicking. The usual problem is that I am getting dry-ish hits that are kinda harsh sometimes. I'm assuming it's because I am using too much wick or the ends aren't getting saturated enough. I also did not know that people didn't like to use the outer layers of the koh gen do. Is there a reason for this? I've been using it all this time.

I think your issue of dry-ish hits is due to lack of proper wicking process. Getting too much wick in the well will sometimes block the juice channels and it will not wick properly. My advice, and everyone else's as well, is to push your wick to the sides of the building deck after you prime it with juice, keeping them away from the juice channels on both sides. One sign that would tell you that your tank is wicking in a good way, is seeing bubbles rising from the juice channels after filling your tank with juice and taking a couple of primer puffs. Also while you're vaping, after every 3 or 4 puffs you should see a single or a couple of air bubbles escaping the juice channels, for me this is a sign of a healthy wicking process. You should master your normal wicking first before trying to add the flavor wick, i don't want you to get more frustrated. The size of the building deck is positively related to the amount of cotton i'm using. In my Lemo, i'd use more cotton than what i'd use in my KFL+ clone.
As for the outer layer of the KGD, i think using the outer layer in your normal wick is not a big issue, but i find it to be stiffer, with fibers more compact than the cotton layers in the middle of the cotton pad, and i like to fluff the cotton in my wick to increase its wickability  I hope this works well for you.

EDIT: I do prefer bigger diameter coils for the Lemo for better wicking. I'm still using the stock coil that came in it which i believe is a 3mm coil, and it's working like a dream. I'm even using a 3mm 26ga in my KFL+ and it's pretty good, but i'm thinking a 2.4-2.5 coil might be even better. With a smaller diameter coil, i can use less cotton with the KFL+.

I'm neither comparing nor prefering the subtank over the Lemo. It's just that all the reviews i watched and read about the subtank mini are positive, flavor and airflow wise, the ease of rebuilding the stock OCC , and the added advantage of having an RBA section seemed to be the best bang for the buck. I just received my Lemo and i'm absolutely stunned by the airflow it has that i'm only using my KFL+ exclusively for my mouth to lung vaping, in fact it wasn't meant for anything else. The Lemo is inevitably forcing me to change the way i'm vaping. I'm still discovering the Lemo world, and i'm sure i have a lot to learn, but one thing i'm also sure of is that i'm gonna like it while i'm doing it. Given that i only own a KFL+ and a Lemo, i thought it will not be a bad idea to have an additional tank for variety. Now i have previously considered getting an Aqua 2 clone, going the RDA direction, which i never tried but really feel it's not the way i want to vape. But as more sub ohm tanks emerged, and everyone liking it, the one that really got my attention was the subtank mini. It's either that or just wait long enough for a Lemo killer [emoji14]
Cheers whatever works for you. I just been through so many atomizers and finally fell in love with the Lemo and it's ease to wick and use with no leaking issues. It's the only rebuildable I've ever owned that didn't leak .
Love the versatility to. Dusted off my Evic Supreme and running the Lemo In hybrid mode

Tasting great just put a fresh wick in and changed out flavors.
Going to try your wicking method next time I re coil it. I've yet to put a new coil on it. It's been about 2 weeks chain vaping at least 30 ml probably 60ml, just changing wicks with new flavors. Really want another one drop now to and possibly another full size . I want to try a sub ohm build on it see how it produces .....but I'm perfectly happy with the flavor and vapor production at 1ohm on with stock coil. Personally the flavor is way better then Atlantis tanks and vapor production at 1 ohm on the Lemo is just as comparable to the .5 ohm Atlantis coils. Another thing collecting dust now 2 5ml and 2 2ml Atlantis Tanks.

Very nice setup you got there. I've also been only rewicking the stock coil for the past week. With all the troubles surrounding the subtank mini rba section insulator, i'm holding off until the issue is resolved. Meanwhile, for someone like me coming from a restricted kayfun, the Lemo is KING!!!

I got around to rewicking the Russian 91 and it works just as well as the Kayfun 3.0.
Then my new Aqua v2 came in the mail and just got it running good. Will have to add the mummy wick to it later tonight
and see how it plays.

I wonder how you plan to add the mummy wick in an Aqua v2. The aqua v2 was on my list, and seeing how sensitive the wicking process is, i was having a hard time imagining how a flavor wick would fit in it. But anyways goodluck, and we'll be interested in hearing how it went in the Aqua v2.

Yep your right does not stay in place in Aqua v2.
But I get good flavor without it. Quickly becoming my New Favorite

I just rebuilt my Kayfun 3.1 ES so I thought I would try the Mummy Wick on it. Working much better than on the Kayfun Undead as the Undead is all drilled out for maximum airflow.

I wicked the 3.1 with de-gummed Hemp and applied a wider strip this time of KGD across the top touching the deck on both sides. The draw is a little reduced but the flavor of my max VG ADV juice is most excellent!

So you're saying using a wider KGD strip will result in an even better flavor at the expense of a tighter draw? I can try this in my Lemo, and the abundance of its airflow should compensate for the tighter draw usually experienced in the kayfun family.

I tried the wider strip on top with my Lemo Drop the last time I rewicked, but had to take it out after the tank emptied. If you can believe it flavour production was too much with the bold flavours I have currently (Crave Gourmet - Chai and Citrus Punch). It was actually making me feel ill when I vaped. I'll go back to the thinner strip mummy after I've gone through my current supply and change flavours.

One of the things I like about this Kayfun is the completely simple rewick and build.

But I tried it anyway.

I'm getting dry hits on 99% VG that I've never gotten before and the top cover is burnt.

I'm going to conclude that this is good for thin juice but not the motor oil I like.

Well, i didn't get a chance to try this with a max VG juice, but i'll take your word for it, this wick is not be suitable for 99% vg motor oil juices !! Too bad though, but i guess everything has its pros and cons, nothing and no one is perfect ;)
