One more thing:

In your case, if you are going back overseas, it could be much easier to use box mod [have 2 of them - in case one breaks down] and 10-20 rechargeable $5 batteries.

If one of the mods brakes down - you can always get in touch with whoever can solder [nearest supporting/engineering unit] and can get it fixed or use old parts to make new one.

Depends on what exactly you are doing - if you are involved in field operations, you may want to get one of the all-metal mods.

And, of course, you may want to get one of the mods without led light [snipers etc].

What are the box mods? is it something that you built or is it a different kit? I have seen some threads on here about them but haven't looked real closely
I work on blackawk helicopters and there are plenty of electritions and avionics people around who can solder so that wouldn't be a problem.
anything that can use regular batteries in a pinch would be awesome as well, any suggestions?

as for the no led thing I ordered one that was "SS no7 stealth" from ecigaretteschoice.com, haven't figured exactly what model it is but it has no light which is why I ordered it.

Thanks everyone for the ecouragement.
2 more days till I am on my way home and I can't wait to start vaping

I spend some time looking for a good "next step" e-cig and almost bought EM Riva, but after all decided to get a box mod [ http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/requests-opinions-reviews/119638-em-riva-vs-3-7-box-mod.html ] - I've chosen functionality over appearance.

I've got 2xAA Box Mod with slow change LED from MadVapes

This mod uses Protected 14500 Battery, 900 mAH priced $4.79. It lasts for me from 6 to 9 hours.

If you are friendly with electronics and have basic tools, you can build this kind of mod yourself in about 1 hour and about $8 in parts. Or you can buy it from $24 to $40 from different suppliers.

Here on ECF you can find tons of info, this is one of the tutorials: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/battery-mods/16762-how-new-improved-nicostick.html

Or you can build all-metal http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/modders-forum/26377-laser-pointer-mod-guide.html

A lot of mod parts can be found here: DIY Mod Parts

But most important/unique would be battery connector priced at $2.49, best [imo] to use 510 battery connectors they are most common.

Actually there are Box and Tube Mod Kits and instructions on how to make them: How To Tutorials

EDIT: Just checked SS CHOICE NO. 7 STEALTH at ecigaretteschoice. I don't know what model is that [not 510 for sure] but it seems to be some old ecig. I don't know anyone who used this kind of cig, but I doubt battery can last more than 2 hours and doubt it can produce good vapor, but everyone is different.
You may want to check couple of topics on this forum:

Welcome home ... I lived in Kabul for over 2 years working for an NGO.
Give yourself time to adjust. Freedom .... and you have paid the price for the freedom we have here.
It is so strange when you first come back here so take care of yourself and your family.
Thanks for your service and the freedom those like you allow us.

First I'll chime in with my thanks for your service. As a former military wife, I know the sacrifices made by your and your family and I appreciate it.

Now, to the posting. I don't know if you mentioned it and I missed it or not, but did you plan on continuing using an ecig on return to Afghanistan? As Vini pointed out, the box mods are a cheap and easy to do yourself solution. You can get several kits and just build them as you need them, and the batteries for them are fairly cheap. I think there are even a couple that will work off standard AA batteries. Assuming you bought a 510, these so-called box mods (called such because they are, essentially a box) will use the same equipment you have except for the batteries. I think in assembling them you would have the option to not use the LED, but I'm not sure of that.

If you decide you really like it, there are also a couple hard core sturdier models out there, but I hesitate to overload your brain with all of those until you've had a chance to try the 510.

Have your wife get you in a nice supply of juices to try. Lots of places have sample sizes so you can leave the house smelling like a bakery instead of a bar!

Thanks for all the info, definately looks like the box mod is something I need to look into.
I did buy a 510 as well as the no7, it just hasn't showed up yet. the wife has got the no7 charged and will meet me at the aorport with it so I will hit the ground running with that till the 510 comes in, should have about 20 flavors of juice arriving as well.

SimpleSins: Yes I am planning on vaping when I have to come back overseas, wanting to quit the analogs while I am home and stay off them!!

oh, and no need to worry my brain is already overloaded from the few days I have been looking around on here.

5 Days and NO analogs !! Even passed my self test, my grandfather who smokes 2+ packs a day asked if I wanted a "real one" and didn't even have to think about the answer. He thought the my PV was cool as hell and kept sniffing my vape saying "yeah I kind of do smell the coffee" haha it was awesome.

I am getting a little bit of a hard time with the wife though, every time I explain to someone what vaping is and how it is better than smoking she has to make sure to say that it still has the most addicting part. Grrr I figured she would be happier that I dont stink like smoke, but apparently the niccotine is the bad part.

on the plus side haven't went to bed weezing, and things are starting to smell better.

Congratulations on your 5 days!!! I personally was amazed at how great I felt, as I'm sure you are too!!
For the record, nicotine is no worse than caffeine. Nicotine is also found in some of the foods we eat daily. I'm sure others on here will chime in and add more about that, but your wife needs to understand that nicotine is NOT the bad part.. you got rid of the bad part(s) 5 days ago!! :)

Congrats again, and stay safe when you return overseas!!
