Hey all,

I didnt see too many posts on hybrids but i came across the idea/concept and some products of these "hybrid mods" where i guess the battery is connected internally to the rba/rda. You cant switch rbas on them - there is no 510 connection and they are really light weight.

Thats all i know - what else am i missing? . - its so scary i found myself getting caught up in the hype earlier this morning willing to do anything to research them and buy one - the form factor on some are a amazing and who doesnt want to own something that virtually nobody else in your immediate vaping community has. I guess this is how women feel about shoes the way we feel about gear. Steep 300 price tags on these puppies

I took slowly two steps away from the computer and a little more level headed now:)

Can someone who has been around the block or anyone weigh in with your opinion on them ? Next fad to sell 300 dollar devices? , how is the vape from these things??? , since they are rebuildable atomizers i imagine the majority of the vape will come from the build and the juice delivery system they are using.

If these "hybrids" are in fact good which models should i look at ? And i think i even saw a link for a hybrid clone but forgot to right it down.

What are your thoughts ? How does it vape ?

Sorry if this post is really old new in the vaping community... Its new to me and havent really been able to get any good opinions or unbiased info. I know that there are some really smart people in this community that could set me straight -

They generally have low voltage drop thanks to a lack of connections, but most people would not be able to honestly tell the difference (even if they tell you they do).
They will be a *bit* shorter than a similar mod with a similar atty (because of the lack of a 510).
Yes, they look very nice.

There are "cheaper" models on the market, but most are expensive... for the same reason "high end" mechs are expensive. People want something "fancy" and are willing to pay for it. Really, they SHOULD be LESS expensive than if they were to manufacture the same mod and atty separately, as there are less parts to build, but alas, they aren't. In truth, unless you're really stuck on having a super sleek mod with (generally) a gennesis atty on top, it makes much more sense to buy a mod and an atty that look good together, as you'll have more options if you decide you don't like one or the other.

Thx for clarifying. I was stuck when in the throws of the research n seeing how sleek they looked but after taking a step back and you helping me realize what they are im definitely OUT : fancy flashlight tube with some expensive light weight equipment n built in rda for 300 plus. Thx for talking sense to me

I don't have one, but I agree with Mitey on most of what he said. Mechanical mods are all I vape these days. I thought about these and had a quick look at them but I just couldn't get past the concept of being stuck with one juice delivery device. The upside is there is no weak 510 connection, but I'm not that hard on my devices.

I also think vape hardware is changing so fast these days, in a year (or less) my hardware tastes will probably be completely different anyway.

The IHybrid Pures can be had for around $100. The IHybrid LEs for around $150. Some of the LEs are quite interesting looking.
Here is a pic of my 'Diamondback'.

There are certain mods that have a companion atomizer. Such as the origin and the aqua. Some mods have hybrid adapters as well.

I have all clones. But you can get the tobeco aqua/origin combo from some places together for $70.

It does look seamless. And it does hit well. But honestly running it on the nemesis. To the origin in hybrid mode. Same battery. No real difference.

Great info - helped me so much. - yeah its a weird concept - selling point being very light with special aluminum doesnt add value to me. Having only one choice of atomizer as i do understand why doesnt really add value and there doesnt seem to be a huge benefit for having this one piece atomizer (less voltage drop). They are very sleek. -- will have to check out that tobeco aqua/origen combo - sounds interesting for the price though lol -- the sleakness is neat- i dont get the 300 dollar plus price tag on alot of them

Nice photo rule62

Thank you so much for sharing hour knowledge guys. I really was doubtful of what i knew and you helped me alot

I should have added:
My Origen combo is a Tobeco clone.
About $60 in a B&M. You can set this up as a regular mod/atty combo or a hybrid.

The only issue I see with a dedicated hybrid is you have no ability to check resistance of your build.

What? There are plenty of ways to check your resistance with a hybrid... measure at posts, measure at + pin and ground... this statement is just wrong in every way.

    Hybrids are awesome.

Ive got a couple, some Zens and some iHybrids. I dont use them as much as when I first got them, because I prefer an RDA/dripping vape experience over a Genesis experience.. but with that, I should mention, that one of my iHybrids, my Doc Dave Collaboration, which happens to be a dual coil genny hybrid, is always setup and full. I dont use it everyday, but when I want to not carry a bottle of juice somewhere, I dont grab for a kayfun, I grab for a hybrid.

And as for the Zens.. If you're not interested in Subohm vaping, you won't find a better hybrid. The machine quality is art level, the materials used are tip top, and every one of the Z2 devices is a work of art all on its own. As long as you dont want to subohm, you will love a Zen. Me, I subohm, so while I still TRULY cherish my entire Zen Collection, they are little more than show pieces now.

Also, worth noting.. The Z2 line from Zenesis, is a unique take on the hybrid design. Its not a true hybrid, like the iHybrid, where the top contact for the battery, is the postive contact on the atomizer.. on the Z2 design, there is different components. such as, Battery tubes, Atomizer Tanks, 510 caps, and Carto Tanks. And the threading is all the same. So you can take whatever size battery tube you want, put whatver type of tank you want, in whatever color you want, and have your own device. So you could buy an 18650 Hybrid, as well as a 510 cap and a carto tank, and you now have 3 different 18650 mods, one of them a regular mech which can handle anything with a 510 connection.

Thx so much for your input jman ----- this damn board kills me somes time- i learn of a new peoduct and im off hunting n trying to learn about it and looking up pictures and sites and HAVE to have one --- with some time away from the first 2 hours of seeing all the pictures and learning about the features the glaze over my eyes have been removed for the most part. Can think clearly now :).

They look absolutely beautiful and the reduction in voltage drop seems very nice - the vape budget is not what it use to be a few years back and with some further thought it not for me for the price. If had the disposable income would definitely think of getting one.

Do to i jury treating vaping more than ever about knowledge and hobbying so i appreciate the input knowledge and time from all - thanks much
