I ran accross an old altoid box today. Nothing unsual there, I like the mints and the carcasses linger as I love the tins and find stuff to use them for. Anyway, this one is special in that it is an older one without the raised letering and logos. With the newer ones even if you strip it to the bare metal there is no mistaking it for what it is, an altoids tin. I am in the proccess of removing the paint and underneath is a wonderfly shiny surface!

So now I am not sure what I want to do with the surface and am looking for some ideas. I could leave it as is, it looks pretty damn good.

I could paint it. Flat, glossy, black, white, green....

I could cover it with some kind of texture though I am not sure what this would be. maybe even some kind of rubberized coating?

.... they had straight barebones hinged tins, and ALSO altoids type tins with a CLEAR see through top lid... i thought that was kinda neat...

thought id share, ill lookem up again, stuff was real cheap if i remember right...

I could not make up my mind about a finish so I just shined it up and wired it. I will carry it for a while like this and see how I feel about it. If I want to I can always apply another finish later or make a new one, not much to it anyway.

So here it is in shiny form.
