Hi all. This is my first post. I'm new to the forum, though I have read a lot here before registering. I'm new-ish to vaping (~4 months).

When I first started vaping, I was using the 24 or even 36 nic strength when I could find it, and chain vaping because I STILL felt like I wasn't getting the nic I wanted. Now I'm proud to report I'm happily vaping ~12 mg without noticing a difference. I enjoy it as much as or even more than I enjoyed smoking analogs. I love trying different flavors, [for the most part] they taste and smell great, there's no gross after smell or taste, my clothes and apartment don't stink... well, I'm probably preaching the choice with all that.

Anyway, I'm feeling ready to try switching down in strength again and haven't had much luck finding juices that will accommodate that. It seems most sites go right from 12 to 6, and 6 didn't work out for me. I'm not quite sure why. It was the same step down as 24-18 and 18-12 but it just didn't do it for me.

I have found a shop near me that carries 11 and another that carries 10, which is great. That might be enough to get me "over the hump", so to speak, so I can switch to 6 successfully.

Ideally, though, I'd like to find a nic strength of 8, and then possibly even 4 after that.

Does such a thing exist? Is there any site that offers juices stepped down by increments of 2? If they had a decent selection of flavors that would be even better.

The alternative, of course, is mixing my own flavors to get the strength I want, which I could definitely do, but it would be easier to find pre-made liquids in those strengths.

I would like to get off nicotine completely, or at least use juices that contained nic only occasionally. But even if I can't do that, I know the lowest strength that's comfortable for me would be better for my health in the long run.

Any help?

Hi Finney, welcome to the forum.
I don't know of any places that let you specify a nicotine level to that degree, but I am sure if they exist, people on here will know. But a great suggestion above from Cocorosa is to do the mixing yourself and you can customize the level to where you feel comfortable.

So for example you could get two exact same flavors, one at 12 and one at 6mg. Mix them together 50/50 and you'll have 9mg juice.

Of course going full-on DIY would be another way of fine tuning your nic levels - if you are interested, there is an active DIY section right here

You could also mix premade liquids of your liking as follows (with a bottle each of 12mg and 0mg strengths):

To get 8 mg/ml: 2 parts 12mg to 1 part 0mg

To get 4 mg/ml: 1 part 12mg to 2 parts 0mg

You can also "water" down your 12mg flavor by substituting the 0mg flavor with pure VG (from the drugstore). But then you run the chance of watering down the flavor. That's why I suggest using flavored liquid. HTH

This is likely the best way to get to your 8mg requirement. I have seen shops that make juices in 8mg, but doing this would mean you could continue using the juices you know you like and not have to search for 8mg (6mg is FAR more prevalent btw).

HTH!

Yeah, that's sort of what I'd had in mind if I couldn't find the strength I wanted pre-made. Even mixing flavors. Like a 12 mg tobacco blend I like, with a 6 mg vanilla. Or whatever else. It would be relatively easy to do, but not so much if I wanted to mix a small dropper bottle for travelling or anything like that. In that case, premades would definitely be easier.

Hey OP!

Others have said this and it's the best way, it's actually what I do.

Say I was vaping my Utah Outcast juice, Gold Rush. Buy a 20mg bottle and a 0mg bottle and dilute them. Half and half would be 10mg, you can go from there and slowly adjust your way down to a 6mg (or 5mg like we sell).

Good luck!

Are you aiming for 0 nic level? If so, are you going to quit vaping after that or just enjoy the routine like a lot of people do?

get a 100 mg bottle of nic from myfreedomsmokes! Just dont drink it. ha easy equasion to add the nic to the fluid to get your desired amount! each % is a ml! (if you get 10 ml bottles, add about .9 ml for an 8 mg bottle! then the rest of the process is at your finger tips!

This is what I've been doing. Get the next strength down, and beef it up a little to hit the halfway point. The added volume from 100mg nic isn't enough to water down the flavor much at all, and it is super easy to do.

BE CAREFUL with the 100mg nic. A spill on your hand could make for a bad day.

I've seen others have similar issues when trying to drop down when they are already at lower levels...

--Going from 24 to 18 is a 25% drop
--Going from 18 to 12 is a 33% drop
--Going from 12 to 6 is a 50% drop

That may have something to do with it.
