For me, courtesy rules.
If vaping is permitted, I vape.
If it is not stated that vaping is permitted, I ask or assume it is not permitted.
After all, who would like it if someone came into you office, home or car and started farting because it's not illegal...
Oh, and before someone gets totally defensive about my comparison between the smell of vaping vs farts, two things. Yes, vaping does produce an odour that others can smell and no, not everyone likes the same smells that you do.

Regarding the original post, I would wager that Taco Bell is one of the growing number of places where the no vaping policy is the result of a confrontation on the subject.

i agree with you and I like your fart/vape comparison. Vaping does produce a sort of "second hand smoke." Now we all know that it's not as bad as that of the stinky variety, but never the less it's a person's right not to breathe something in that they don't want to.

I just don't like the negative association that sign gives, lumping cigs with vapes. Until we know exactly what's going on with the exhale vapor, I guess we'll just have to deal.

I agree that one should be considerate of others when in public places, regardless of the activity. When smoking was allowed in bars, I always blew my smoke down toward the floor or straight up and away from anyone in the immediate area. When vaping I tend to do the same thing, but now I also have the option of holding it in a bit longer and not blowing out clouds.

Have to agree with this 100% I've refrained from sounding off in one of the " is it okay to vape in where you can't smoke" threads, but eh, might as well....

I do my very best to be considerate of other people when I vape while I'm in an enclosed space (regardless of the size of the location)... in a bar, if I don't see ashtrays out, I always ask the bartender if its alright. If a restaurant has a "smoking" area inside, I'll excuse myself and go OUTSIDE if I need a vape. I'm not a smoker anymore, and I don't want to be in that area either.
Need a vape because some screaming kid is driving me nuts in Wally World and I want nothing more than to hang it from the rafters? I head to the bathroom and stealth.
Heck, at my non-vaping friend's houses, I always ask if its alright. Of course, they're totally 100% behind the act of vaping, and they all love the idea that I can quit smoking without killing them :)

Outside? I vape where ever I feel like, because its NOT smoke. My PV looks nothing like a cigarette, and I don't ever try to hide what I am vaping on outside. But I am also considerate to a point. If someone asks me politely to "put it out" while I am outside, I go through the spiel (while usually still vaping). If they still want me to put it out and are polite about it then I usually do, and wait till they aren't around anymore. If they're complete jerks about it, then I do the spiel and continue to vape, and ask them to not bathe in cheap cologne anymore because it offends my delicate nasal passages (Usually while doing a french inhale of the vape)

I just try to apply common sense, common courtesy and to educate whenever I can. That's all I ask of those around me as well though. If I receive courtesy from the people that my vaping offends, then I will extend the same courtesy in return.

I want to be a billboard for vaping as an alternative to smoking. What I don't want to be is lumped in with the smokers. I'm not a smoker. I am not a sheep, and I will exercise my rights that are mine, while at the same time not acting like an entitled little brat (like most anti's). Rights are a freedom we are given, and that many people still fight for... Look at the war that the LGBT community is waging to be considered equals... If you want to help vaper's keep their rights, join CASAA. Do your part to fight the stupid legislations that are trying to get passed by some senator who's golf games are funded by Big Pharma or Big T. Support the smart legislation. Spread the information.

Never did much care for taco bell anyhow... if I want mexican/ tex-mex, there's an awesome NON CHAIN mexican place here that is authentic, and very well priced. (Jalisco's, for anyone interested that's here or near Lubbock)

When I started vaping, I stealthed everywhere because I felt like the only vaper in town. Five shops popped up in the last few years with commercials on every radio station, and overnight people are vaping all over town, young and old. We just had a local news station run a bit about restaraunt owners, particularly bars, who allow it and hope to see more of it. One of the owners mentioned that vapers usually take a puff or two then put it away, and a patron stated "it doesn't stink" and "it's not like they're abusing it". And here I thought they would stamp it out as soon as it surfaced.

This. When I go to the casinos around here, just to be considerate, I do the same thing. I did it with analogs too when I was playing and someone was next to me. There were times when it was really busy and I would ask the person on either side of me if they minded. If just one said yes, I wouldn't smoke till I changed machines. I have also had non smokers tell me they appreciated that I asked.

Keep in mind that some of the casinos were smoke holes, I mean you could smell it outside the door. I wouldn't go tot the Hard Rock Casino and sit in the non smoking area and vape, just like I wouldn't light up an analog. The people in that section may be there because allergies or what not. Who am I to ruin there evening by being hard headed. If I need a nic fix that bad, I will cash out, go to the smoking section or outside. No big deal to me, had to do that when I smoked too. No different in my opinion.....

You are very fortunate to live in a state where you can get the most authentic Mexican food in the country, along with New Mexico and Southern California of course. If you're ever in Tampa town, check out a place called Vallarta's just north of the city limits in Dale Mabry Hwy. It's the best I've found in this area so far, and I recommend it to everyone who visits my fair city. :)

HAHAH! I grew up in Tampa.... don't think they were there when I lived there, but man do I miss the good cuban places....also... I miss my Bucs!! (And seafood that isn't an arm, a leg, and both kidneys!!! We've got a dead lobster and a Joe's here, and neither work for me or the missus. She's from Hawai'i!)
The S.O. and I are planning a trip back to FL sometime next early srping, to see some of my old friends, as well as to go to busch gardens... I'll have to take a look at Vallarta's for sure!

Vaping in public seems to be a touchy subject for most. I personally have been just doing it and seeing if anyone says anything. In more enclosed places I will be a bit more "stealth" about it, smaller hits, longer holds, blowing it toward the ground or the ceiling, at home, or outside with no one around is the time for big puffy clouds, which is great fun but in the right places.

I haven't flown yet but I imagine just getting a mod through security would be an adventure. Let alone vaping on a plane. I feel like bathroom vaping is the best, the smell cant be any worse then what coming out the other end. So I don't particularly get very stealthy on the can, I haven't been approached once by anyone asking me to stop, but out of common courtesy I would unless I just really had one of those days I guess.

Being obnoxious about your habit is definitely not the way to go, as a vaper I wouldn't mind someone fogging out my table while I'm eating but I'm sure someone would, when I smoked I didn't mind people smoking around me while eating either though so I guess I'm just not bothered by that type of thing. People just need to be respectful of those around you and if someone asks inform them what is going on but then be courteous about it.

I'm sure at one point we will be doomed to be vaping outside with the analogs but how long we get to be free from restrictions is up to our courtesy as a community

I would be very careful about vaping on a plane. Some airlines have explicit policies against the use.

I've vaped with my wife (both of us vaping) in a Mexican restaurant once. I asked the waiter if it was ok first. He said go for it.

It wasn't very busy at the time and was in the bar area where children are not allowed. I didn't fog up the place and tried to keep it a bit on the mellow side. And if anyone complained I would have stopped.

If I want to vape in a non-smoking establishment I go into the restroom. If you are one who is still smoking analogs and are in the habit of vaping in vape friendly places you may lose your head and light up a analog (not thinking) when you are in a non-friendly vape place. I did this..yikes. Now one thing I always make sure of is while I am driving and see a police car I will not let them see my pv. I do not want to get pulled over and hassled.

yes, I wonder about the pv. The last time I flew which was a couple years ago I used the ciga light type. I didn't have a problem going through security and smoked in the restroom. Anyone chime in here about pv's and juice and flying.

To chime in on the flying -- just flew twice this weekend with my travel vaping bag in my carry on and had no trouble whatsoever. They didn't even mention it. For context, I was carrying 4 bottles of liquid, one was a 30ml, the remainder were 15mls. I had 3 18650s, a Vamo, replacement coils, four protanks, AND Halo Triton. I was certain there'd be an issue but nope.

Used to live right by them. Great restaurant, if you can get a table that is!

I've flown a few domestic flights since I started vaping and have not had any issues.
Keep it stowed and you will be fine. I don't know of a single North American airline that allows vaping on board.
If you stealth vape, you are taking a very big risk.
The attitude of the airlines will be that you cannot claim ignorance. You must have known it was not allowed or you would not have been trying to hide it.
