Yes I do and I will resume after the 10 of August.

There is actually three things that I am thinking about. One of them might not be practical but let me run this by you. I would like to turn a standard sized Provari to a Mini. How big of a job is that.

The others are not that bad. I want a steel carto tank cap made in a size where you don't see them made. The bevels on it will not be difficult.

We are proud to announce our production model at JR Custom Turnings. We offer various types of exotic woods for even the most discerning tastes. The Woodies will see their début in Toronto on the 9th and 10th of August. The woody is machined from a solid block of wood, has an alumunium core for durability and has solid brass connections

The launch of the "woodie" this WE was a great success. Thank you all for your kind words, support and encouragement. I picked up some nice turning blanks in Ottawa on my way. The remaining woodies will be hitting the site tonight.

KP,

Sorry good buddy. As discussed the piece of B&W Ironwood will not do I thought there was more white in it than what is actually there 3/8" on one corner running the entire length. It will all disappear when I rough it out. But as we discussed I will be on the look out for a piece

Wow! What can I say? Nothing! I have a sore throat, glad I am back on the keyboard

I would like to take this moment to thank everyone who attended and showed support. Now folks know what we have been missing all these years. It was pleasure meeting all you peeps.

I would like to extend a hearty well done to the organizers and volunteers who looked after us. I spoke to Frenchy last night requesting a letter be drafted to the Holiday Inn for their support in seeing this event culminate into a large success. For those that have never been at one of these events, vaping is normally restricted to the convention room. We had free-pratique in the entire hotel. Well done and thank you HI. Nobody said a peep to us which was nice. I spent 40 minutes or so educating the bartender Fri during supper. Trust me the word got spread in TO and low and behold it was spread on my way back to Mtl. Stopped for gas and the attendants behind the counter were talking about the gas station PVs. One said to the other too bad nic is illegal in Canada. Well you know me, I pulled out my MVP and said BS :) The guy said cool that is one of them good ones. I spent 20 min there and left them my remaining stack of business cards.

Now its time to go play with my woodie

"Woodies" are made from the following species:

Birch
Bocote
Bubinga
Cocobolo
Ebony
Ironwood
Jatoba
Oak
Olivewood
Purpleheart
Quilted Maple
Rosewood
Spalted Maple
Thuya Burl
Verawood (similar to Lignum Vitea)
Zebrawood

Species not depicted below are either not currently in stock or haven't hit the shelves yet. Because "woodies" are our production model, selection will vary and turn around time will be quicker e.g as we intend to do short versus large production runs, in order to bring "woodie" to you at shorter intervals.

Wood grain and patterns may vary.

Limited edition "woodies" will also be available in the collector's section. This is where you will find the "Cobbler" and "Woodies" fabricated from the choicest rendering of a particular wood blank. It goes without saying these "woodies" will carry a premium price. That being said, pricing will be commensurate with our motto, Affordable Quality!

Unlike the production line "woodie" (where grain and pattern may vary), you will be receiving the "woodie" as depicted in the collector's section.

Over the course of the WE I was asked <<if I sent you a piece of wood, would you turn a woodie for me?>> The short answer is no! Let me explain...

Wood is a relatively unstable material when compared to metal. During turning operations unseen flaws are often revealed, or blow outs may occur. This is common in wood turning. When this occurs, the cost associated with mishaps becomes part of overhead, whilst if it happens with a piece of wood supplied by a customer, it results in a disappointed customer. Therefore, I would rather disappoint you upfront, than later. Thank you for your understanding :)
