So last night out on the oil rig one of our Galley workers came into my clinic asking about where to get a cheap e-cig kit when he flys home Monday. His doctor says he needs to quit smoking. We got a fresh drip tip out and let him try black honey ( like a black n mild ) and he loved it.
I looked at vape shops near his home and they had the standard EGO type starter kits for 40-50$... the exact same kits I can get on ebay or fasttech for 10-20$
It just so happened that me and Duane ( the underwater robot tech ) were dry burning coils and puffing away... After the galley worker left we put together a few coils, a vivi nova mini tank, an 1100mah ego battery, a USB charger and 15mls of black honey. We asked the worker to take it home with him and try it out. We told him to bring us 20$ if he wanted to keep it, otherwise to just return it. He couldnt thank us enough. I did give him a list of shops in the area where he can taste juice and replace his clearomizer.
We immediatley went online and bought 2 ego starter kits and plan on continuing to hand them out with whatever extra juice we have. Yesterday Duane gave out an entire starter kit, and I gave out a bottle of juice and a CE4 tank to replace a cracked tank for another guy. There are people out on the rig vaping and we never knew it.
It feels good to promote good health as a paramedic and not just respond to emergencies.
I hope all these people upgrade to new gear and pay it forward with the stuff we gave them... if they bring some awesome juice out to the rig and share... well that would be nice too!
