GF stripped the bedding to wash it and I forgot to check to make sure my provari wasn't included in said bedding. After a bit I realized I couldn't find it... I looked everywhere until I had a dreadful thought that it may have been mixed in with the laundry. I had to stop the washer, as the door lock was on, and search through the heavy, overfilled washer hoping I wouldn't find it tangled in all of it. I did.

It wasn't terribly soaked, but it had definitely reached the internals and battery. Not to mention my penelope's juice control was open as well. I took it out, dried it to the best of my ability and set it in front of my window open side up for a few minutes until I couldn't take waiting any longer.

I threw the battery in, screwed the cap on, and to my surprise the LED lit up! I hit the fire button five times and the display worked also! Upon further inspection, though, the display was very cloudy and was also leaving random bars lit. After more drying it seemed to be alright. I threw an old carto tank on and got an E4 error. More drying. Cloudiness gone, random lit display bars gone, no more E4 error, and a firing carto! Looks good now!

These things are truly a marvel.

Nope. It's not like I soak 'em long. Just enough to get into all the areas where water can hide. Then I pull the phone out of the bag and drain it standing up (or however the opening is situated downward) on paper towels. I sat one a window sill (that didn't get direct sunlight) and the other on top of the fridge. Let 'em sit for a day, re-installed the battery, SIM & memory cards. Both booted & worked fine afterwards.

I would DEFINITELY do the alcohol rinse... Here's why: On the circuitboard all those silver wires and everything... Well water gets down in those crevices, and even though it works perfectly now, those miniscule amounts of water will begin to rust. Causing it to mysteriously fail 3-6 months down the road. Ask anyone who has ever accidentally gotten a computer motherboard wet. The alcohol will evaporate away and basically take the water with it.

And yes it is perfectly acceptible to do an alcohol rinse, and is often suggested by Provape for stuff like this. Just take the end cap off, remove the battery, poor a shot glass worth of alcohol down into the tube, swish it around a minute, and poor it out. Then leave it to sit for 24 hours, to evaporate the alcohol. Use the 90% isopropyl if you can't find 99%, 70% has too much water.
