Well, I received my Opus yesterday from the good folks at NHaler and after a quick test run I put the charger to it and let it fill up with electrons. I arose this morning at 4:00am (damn dogs) and decided to twist on a ViVi Nova mini (my Bulli Smoker works great on the unit as well) with a 2.4 ohm atomizer head filled with JC Classic blend and enjoyed my morning coffee. I cranked the little black dial to the halfway mark (about 8.5 watts) and started tooting away. Now the Opus is, in my opinion, built quite well. The wood finish has a very nice texture without too much finish on it. It fits well in my hand and is quite lightweight. The one thing I think will take a little getting used to is the little black activation button, it's quite tight and definitely has a sweet spot you need to find. But that is definitely not a deal-breaker as far as I'm concerned. The brass end caps are quite nice and are attached to the body using 8 brass phillips head screws, 4 on top, 4 on the bottom. The brass appears to have a finish applied to it that may or may not prevent the material from oxidizing too much. Either way it is quite attractive. The operation of the device is quite simple, it has a single mini-USB port on the bottom next to an indicator light that tells the user the state of the battery when plugged in and it has a black notched dial on top right next to the sealed 501 connector for the user to dial in their preferred wattage, yes I said wattage, not voltage. In theory, once you dial in your preferred wattage, and this is strictly a trial and error method for the user at first, you should be able to put on any Atty, carto, or whatever preferred appliance the user likes regardless of resistance and get the same performance from the unit without having to adjust and re-adjust. (i.e, TH, taste, and vapor production). As far as I can tell it works exactly as advertised. I put my Bulli Smoker (1.8 ohm coil) a standard ViVi Nova tank (2.8 ohm head) and my ViVi Nova mini (2.4 ohm head) on the unit set at 8-8.5 watts and they all worked effortlessly. Now as far I am concerned, I need to know exactly how whatever it is I am puffing on works. My Bulli pulls differently than my Novas so I adjust accordingly. But it works and works superbly IMO. The unit comes with a one-piece charging unit and the Opus itself, thats it. It has a built-in 1200 mAh Li-Poly battery and utilizes the Evolv dna board to ensure the proper power delivery based upon the resistance of your appliance. And don't let it's light weight and pocketability fool you, it's very sturdy (it's brass and wood for crying out loud). I hope this review (my first one) has helped answer any questions about the Opus.
