I agree with several points by wegster...

I need an 801 model or adapter

I want the 5v and 6v option, preferable not using CR2's because the last batch sucked. I don't trust them anymore

Button on side near top is so much more ergonomic, but I understand the reason for the existing design.

CR2 issues?? these are so common... what issues have you had as of late.. to be honest my plan was to use them in the up and coming 6v version of the AdapteveR, mainly because they are so easy to find for people...

I 100% agree the button on the side is better... unfortately right now with the ergonomics brings many comprimises with it...

I find cr2`s to be fine and so cheap! I use dealextreme and they cost less than £2 each with free international shipping so they ideal for me! ones am trying at moment cost £3.50 for two with battery case!

DealExtreme: $6.52 Soshine 700mA 3.7V RCR123(A) Batteries Pack with Carrying Case (2-Pack)

I must 100% disagree with side button ha-ha! :( I Think it spoils like you say ergonomics, and may be because am used to the screwdriver find it natural to use an end button! Only one advantage can see about a side button is it won`t roll off the table and trust me it will happen at least once!

The last batch of CR2's I ordered from Deal Extreme do not last very long. I seriously doubt the 800mAh ratings on these things. I am cycling 3 to 4 pairs each day through a 6v DIY mod. I am always concerned that they are unprotected, though, I have not had any mis-haps yet. Aside from a few online sources, CR2's do not seem to be available in a retail establishments, except for overpriced Energizers for Photo use. I can certainly live with CR2's, I just need to make sure to have a half dozen pair and at least two chargers to keep them powered up.

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to get some opinions from folks regarding the AdapteveR ordering process...

let me say I personally HATE waiting for things... I'm not the most patient person :D
so my question is:

would people prefer to pre-order an AdapteveR and wait 2-3 weeks for shipment?

OR

would people prefer to play the waiting game for "in stock" and know that it will ship out the next day?

I am thinking either could be an option for the next larger batch... The next batch WILL include options for other insert adapters... specifically the 510, 801, and still the 901...

Thank you all!

Thad

I'd rather pre-order as long as there was a realistic, projected shipping date.

I'd never want to order with the "sometime in the near future" concept, but when things are ready for production and will be rolling off the assembly line so to speak, then I know it won't be that long. If I can pre-order I won't be frantic trying to get in on the few available.

Just my opinion :D

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to get some opinions from folks regarding the AdapteveR ordering process...

let me say I personally HATE waiting for things... I'm not the most patient person :D I know lots of people are frustrated with my inability to satisfy demand... For now things will be more of the same small batch production... if demand remains high I am considering larger scale production of units...

so my question is:

would people prefer to pre-order an AdapteveR and wait 2-3 weeks for shipment?

Sorry to those hungry for more power, I.e. 6v this will be the next phase... Insert adapters come first... I have made too many promises to folks already waiting for insert adapter for the fav's...

Thank you all!

IF you release an 801 model at the same price or less and IF you really, really promise the additional tube needed for 6 volts was right around the corner, I would prefer pre-order.

It sounds like there was a bad batch of cr2's from DE. I recently got a Zi Moshi LV from the new maker of it, HardAssVaporShop.com. It comes with 4 cr2's. HAVS recently sent out an email saying they got a bad batch and were sending out replacements to everone who bought from them.

Won't stop me from loving vaping with cr2's though. They last a decent amount of time for me. Got some additional ones on order too from DE.

Oh, and there's a good chance I'll order an adaptever as well :D

the longer tube is not really a huge "design" issue... just want to do a little more testing before I offer it up with higher voltage...

totally understand your viewpoint... I try to imagine how I would feel if my $$ was out there waiting for the delivery...

Thad , The Batterys to use for the 6volt are two 17335's - 3volt 1000mah = 2000mah they are 33.5mm long & 17mm dia. , one will fit in my AdapteveR but is only 3volt . Too low a voltage but with two what a power house. The two 17335's adds about 1/2in over two cr2's but way more power.

thx Big Daddy :thumb:

if people can tolerate the longer length, maybe this is the way to go....

Correct me if I'm wrong, but 2 batteries connected in series does not increase the mah, does it?

depends if they are connected in "parallel" or in "series" either increases the voltage or the capacity...

lithium cells are typically 3.7v... laptop batteries for example will be a multiple of a lithium cell

the amp draw is what really deturmines the capacity... hope that makes sense... but the draw is the deturmining factor not the other way around

Let me preface this with I am not looking to knock other products, but I am curious, how the heck did the GG and Prodigy manage to get all of the buzz over the AdapteveR?

I took three or four weeks off from this forum but before I stopped coming by the AdapteveR was the hottest thing going, now the AdapteveR threads are practically buried and even though they are being sold there wasn't a single review vs 100's of discussions and reviews of the GG and Prodigy.

Personally after reading and watching detailed reviews and strip downs both the GG and Prodigy vs I am quite firmly convinced that the AdapteveR is actually the most elegant design of the three, (the prodigy has a custom button that will inevitably fail, the GG had a serious initial design flaw) but no major love or passionate following.

Is it all about sales volume or are people chasing higher voltage? 3.7 is passe already?

Seems like you might need to sell an middle extension piece to allow 3xCR123's to get some marketing traction WhateveR. Perhaps "11.1V vaping!!!" will get your product the props it deserves. :D
