Hello all,

This is my first hardware review. Since there is so much debate on the topic of battery mods I thought I would add my $0.02 to the long list of debatable points. I tried to confine the review to a few main topics. Construction, Vapor, Taste/Throat Hit, Flexibility, Customer Service, and Overall. Well, I hope you all find this enlightening. Enjoy.

Construction:

The original Copper is made from brass pipe fittings. What appears to be a 2" coupling with hex nut end caps. This is a device that you could hold in your hand and knock someone out with, much similar to the way you would use a roll of quarters. As a projectile, this would be lethal. Needless to say, other than a few scratches, dropping it shouldn't hurt it at all. The switch is a mechanical one, activated by pressing the mouthpiece toward the battery casing. The switch moves VERY easily. There is little effort at all needed. After just a couple hours of using it I was well adjusted to how it worked. This raises a little concern for carring it in my pocket. I can't recommend that this is the best way to tote this particular product. Because this is made from pipe fittings, there are exposed threads on the shaft. I found these uncomfortable. A little teflon tape or electrical tape fixes that issue quite quickly.

Grade: C

Vapor:

This thing is a vapor MACHINE!!! I was blowing plumes of vapor that were difficult to see through from the moment it touched my lips. What else can you say? It was very satisfying in that aspect.

Grade: A

Taste/Throat Hit:

Even with a 510 atomizer, I found the taste of the e-liquid came through stronger than ever. The Throat hit was usually so intense that it made me cough. I swear this thing hit like a 6' water pipe. The only downside here is that it smells strongly of the brass fittings and when I smelled the brass it mixed a bit with my taste.

Grade: B

Flexibility:

This pertains to how well the unit can adapt to your specific needs. The Copper is made for the RN4081 and has adapters for the 501, 801, and 901.
The way I ordered mine, I got a 510 fitting with no adapter. This is a very flexible mod.

Grade: A

Customer Service:

My order was placed on Black Friday and I had it in my hands the following Wednesday. I was at first confused about the adapter for the 510. I expected that I had the adapter. So, I email Rick at his website. Within 1 hour he called me. He didn't email me back. He CALLED me. He wanted to make sure that I had exactly what I wanted and that ALL my needs were met. When I told him what I actually wanted to do, he suggested that I just try it for a bit and see how I like it. He also told me that I could return it and get the RN4081 with the 510 adapter if I wanted as well. He is willing to do whatever it takes to see that I am happy and I am very satisfied with his efforts.

Grade: A

Overall:

This a very solid unit. It does exactly what it is supposed to do. Rick backs his product as well as anyone could expect. It looks like a pipe fitting. It does have that brass smell to it. Overall, would I recommend this product to someone else? Yes, I would. Take the quality and combine it with the price point and i don't feel it can be beat.

Final Grade: B+

Hmm, I ordered one the same one myself and seeing this slightly has me worried. I will post my review once I get it. I placed my order this past Wednesday and I'm still waiting for it. Analog cigs have been keeping me from going insane but already it seems the taste for them just plain old sickens me

I've had my copper for over a month now and still using the same 510 atty. Have yet to blow one. Came setup with the be103 atty and adapter for the 510. I love the 510 atty's
The one I've been using came from TW, still vapes like a champ just like new. I puff on this daily, with low nic juice Cappuccino. You need to keep it wet, any change in flavor taste add some juice. I have to say the sweet spot is after the batts run down just a bit.
CR2's fully charged is close to 7.2v major bang in the throat hit.
The be103 atty is good for dipping(exposed bridge) i tried that for a bit. Just seemed like i was going through juice really quick. I know 6v sucks up juice, but dipping seemed to really suck up the juice. Actually got dizzy using too high of nic juice 24mg, switched 6-12 mg much better now.
The copper is almost indestructible
Do not try and take off the top nut Rick secures this with loctite, each copper is individually shimmed and aligned, taking this apart would mess this up according to Rick.
Copper gets an A+
Rick gets an A+
Service gets an A+

My next HV Mod is the Silver Bullet soon to arrive

Been using a original 6v copper for about three weeks now. My first e-cig. There's a lot of good things going for it:

1. Versatility and price. Can take 3.7 or 6v without adapters, various atty adapters can be provided for a reasonable price. I'm trying to think of another hv mod for that price, and I'm not sure there is one.

2. Customer support and service. Rick couldn't have treated me better. Prompt communication, great advice and support; you'd think I was his best friend in high school.

3. Rugged durability. Almost indestructible.

4. Vapor and TH. This thing is a frakkin' fog machine at 6v. Able to wean myself off stink sticks almost entirely.

5. Size. Fits easily inside a larger man's hand for stealth vaping. Original design also won't roll off of a table.

Every rose has its thorns, and there are a few quirks with the 6v copper:

1. Attys. Granted, a lot of this was due to my being a noob, but I went through a crap ton of attys until I got the learning curve down. HV 510 attys slowed the attrition rate down dramatically. I wasn't a fan of the rn4081's that was recommended on the website. Besides being inconvenient to refill, they can fall prey to HV. And when Rick advises to not overtighten the atty, he means it! I killed an atty by doing this, it knocked the center post of the atty down so far that it's unusable. Oops. If you can get hv attys to go with it at 6v, by all means do so.

2. 3.7v vaping, meh. Yes, it can do 3.7 v, but I wasn't impressed with the vapor and throat hit. Used the wife's lv 510 atty and cart, and vaping was a struggle. YMMV.

3. Mechanical Switch. One of the greatest strengths of the copper can be a weakness, the mechanical switch. Vaping with it comes naturally for me, but it seems like the spring or whatever mechanism may be giving out after a few weeks of chain vaping. I have to be careful when I hold mine upright or it will activate without pressing downward. Likewise, you can't really travel with the atty in place without risking an accidental activation and atty meltdown. I have to fiddle with the atty tightness and bottom cap to find a happy place that allows easy vaping without accidental activation. The simple soldered in place switch allows for no maintenance, but makes it hard to repair yourself unless you're crafty and have the right tools.

I'm keeping the copper, no doubt. But I'm also looking into getting an xhaler
due to the ability to go 5v/6v (figuring that being able to go 5v with fresh cr123's may help on atty life) and the accessible mechanical switch. One's going to be my office/travelling rig, and the other a stay at home.

Good product, great price, unparalleled service! Thanks, Rick!

I am an extremely heavy vaporer and have been exclusively using The Copper Hex at 6volts sence Thanksgiving. From my experience using all varieties of other high volt mods and regular factory batts, The Copper is quite simply the best battery mod/personal vaporizer I have ever owned.
No other PV's will ever have the scale of quality, modularity, durability, losngevity and ease of maintaince that The Copper series has.
Only after holding the unit in your hand and sharing in its vapor experience can you see how The Copper is a true work of art, hand crafted by a master machinist.
The only minor fault I can possibly find in the unit is that in order to become so durable, toxin free and streamlined it naturally has to be rather heavy compared to most flimsy batteries. That aside, AtmosUSA does offer a Mini version of The Copper, which I imagine is much smaller and lighter.
I would not be surprized, if 30 years from now, my Copper becomes a true classic collectors item worth a million bucks. There is simply no way that Rick at AtmosUSA will be able to keep up with his demand without exponentially increasing his prices or incorporating some factory production into his design build.

What the other mods you're comparing it with?
