Yeeesh. Medical bills are piling up. My urologist did me no favors by admitting me to the hospital as "under observation" after kidney surgery. Complications (PAINFUL complications) arose and I had to stay another day.

So now I'm deep in the red and my beloved Belial will have to wait a few months. Garrrrrr.....!!!!!!

UGH! I know how that goes. And the Dentist can sure rack up some pretty hefty bills in short order. insurance sure doesn't seem to cover many things these days either. Best of luck!

The bright side is that there will be a Belial ready for you when you are ready.

I just joined the Poldiac Club! I got my hands on a Cali Edition and I'm waiting for it to come in. This is my first Poldi and after reading this thread they seem a little high maintenance, but I'm really excited to receive it. I've learned a lot from this thread so far and thanks for everyone that contributed. But I have one question that I can't seem to find this answer to. I read that if I want to sub ohm in the Cali, I have to change the magnet switch to a spring? Is this true? And if so, can someone tell me why?

I had never heard this. I have 2 Poldis. and I sub ohm with DIDs on both of them. Mine are ~.7 ohms, and I have magnets in the switches. Haven't ever had a problem.

Never heard of having to replace the magnets with a spring to sub ohm. According to the Poldiac manual all that is required for sub ohm is the Peek Ketron plastic switch parts which are able to handle higher temps. I think the Cali comes with these parts, but I am not 100% sure of that fact.

Hi, if you do too much sub ohm can you fry your contacts? i know you arent supposed to go really low ohms on these but i did it anyways and not its not firing. do i need to change the contacts? does anyone have spare contacts i can purchase? the sites shipping is way too much to buy from there

If I were you I would just bite it and purchase the upgraded plastics and rhodium plated contacts. The Peek Ketron can take higher heat levels than Delrin can. Could be you just need to clean the contacts, maybe see what is damaged if anything.

Contact MMV at their website about the cheaper shipping option for parts. I think they can ship by Greece Post orders under 50 euros for less than the regular UPS shipping cost. It is slower shipping and does not have insurance.

What ohm where you doing when you damaged it? Where you using a sub ohm kit? I am a .2 ohm vapper and was looking at getting a poldy but I might not now. Any info will help.

Magnet or spring, they make no difference in how hard the mod hits. They only affect the feel of the button press. Once you take one apart you'll see what I'm talking about. The spring is just so if you lose a magnet you can still vape (IMO).

Used a V1 Poldi as my all day carry for all of 2013. Ran builds on it between 0.3 - 0.2, quad or dual coil, not a single issue. Just like any other mod, if you have an atty short you can collapse the neg spring. Meter your builds.

The Peek is nice, but I never had an issue with the delrin parts. Those rhodium negative pole contacts are awesome though.

what is your preferred way to clean the contacts?

Soft clean cloth or white "magic rub" eraser.

    See below

Pencil eraser works as well, I also use 99% Iso alcohol on mine. I got my bottle at Fry's Electronics in the electronic cleaners section. On pure brass or copper contacts I use various polishing fluids to make them bright and shiny before I swab them down with 99% Iso.
