The classis is the original style of Poldiac and the sleek is the new style of the Poldiac. They are the exact same except for the looks. The classic has the "slots" in the ring above and below the switch and the bottom cap, while the sleek does not have these "slots".
I have one of each style and I change my mind about which one I like the looks of best all the time. One day it is the classic and another day it is the sleek.
Just depends on which one you like the looks of best.

Seemed that way. I'd go sleek.

Now I realize this is baseless for the authentic, but I crushed a spring immediately in the garbage Poldiac clone I used at a shop today.

How well do the springs hold up to sub ohm vaping? I see they sell packs of 5 on the site...is it a regular issue?

Could I make a more hefty one out of like thicker copper wire?

The "hot" spring in an original Poldiac should only collapse when you have a "dead" short. The spring in the clone was probably made of weak wire and that is the reason you collapsed it. If I was going to be doing low sub ohm builds I would use the "Negative Pole Pin" option you were asking about in an earlier post. The spring shown for this option does not carry any voltage, as it only purpose is to keep the battery contact tight and in place when you screw the bottom cap on. This option replaces the hot spring.
Just remember that with this Negative Pole Pin option you do not have the safely factor of the hot spring and MUST NOT have a short of any kind.

So...just like any other mech?

I have been wanting to get a Poldiac for awhile now, and last week I was in my local B&M store and they had a Poldiac on consignment for $140.00. I didn't take the time then to really check it out, and I don't remember now if it was a 18500, or 18650, either would be fine with me tho. I am wanting to go back and take a good look at it, and was wanting to know what to look for when I do.
I know that there are US resellers, but if I need parts are there any US resellers that carry parts?
