We're looking at cell signal boosters so we can finally ditch the landline. Anyone know anything about the boosters?

Wow, I have only had trouble in the mountains on road trips, so sorry FV
I only know that cell phone boosters are provider specific. So a booster for Verizon won't work for ATT. Oh, and they are not cheap... 
We have 1-2 bars often and I'm in town. But there's a railroad track 100ft and a feed mill 500ft to the front and a bridge running 3 ft to the side that runs roof high. So it doesn't matter our carrier still the same.
