I agree the cig a likes aren't very good at all. I failed several attempts at quitting analogs with cig a likes. I finally bought a basic eGo starter kit with a 640mah battery, charger, disposable tank, and a bottle of e juice for like $20. Haven't went back to cigarettes since. Best advice I can give is if you go that route buy a clearomizer with replaceable coils. I would recommend the aspire k1. I paid like $9 for it and replacement heads are like $3 at a local shop near me.

Hello and welcome to the forum @Auvent. Glad to have you here!:)

I agree with @Sir2fyablyNutz regarding "cigarette size" vapes.

If you are interested in learning more about e-cigarettes (and all the parts and pieces) below are some blog posts by ECF member @Baditude that I highly recommend for someone new to vaping. These blogs are a few years old so they don't represent some of the "starter kits" many of us recommend today but they are a good place to start to understand e-cigarettes in general.

1. A Good Starter's Setup for a Beginning Vapor
2. Advancing Up the Vaping Ladder with Egos and Mods
3. Proper terminology - Is it a carto, a tank, or what? A Guide to Juice Attachments
4. Something Safe for Cinnamon and Citrus Flavors

If you're looking for a cig-a-like, the only suggestion I would make is the Joyetech E-roll
I found this link as a possible place to purchase it E-roll at evcigarettes

ETA: Sorry, just realized that you're in Australia... maybe check this link E-Roll at vapestreet

As was previously mentioned by several others, the cig-a-likes are on the weak end of the vaping spectrum... but they do have their appeal for some vapers.

I started with a Zeus Titian. Very pricy but simple for a beginner. I you want the one of the best, I can recommended it.
re: Vapor4Life Electronic Cigarettes
25% to 50% off if you call them.

Why ? simplicity and hardly any steep knowledge ramp up required. A good 10 minute read and your good to go. Good flavor with moderate clouds/vape production. Portable, longlife battery, nothing really to brake, easy fill with min. mess. small learning curve.
If you have any additional questions, just hit "like" at bottom right hand corner and I will get back to this thread. Just post a question.

I agree with @Kaezziel, if you must have a cig-a-like sized vape.

Here's a review by PBusardo on the Joyetech e-Roll <=link

Hmm. This sort of question in my bread and butter.

I bought a cig-a-like kit last week for £5.99. ($12.50 AUD). These kits were £19.99 throughout 2014. ($42).

The market is doomed, but the sellers won't stop... they just keep on, and on. There are brands that will happily charge £50 ($110), £60 for this sort of hardware. I'm afraid new vapers are just patsies for the marketing men.

Cig-a-likes have had their day. I got a slimline refillable e-cig today for £7.99 ($17) which has 80% cheaper running costs. I buy them to try them and then give to smokers interested in Vaping. The self-proclaimed #1 cig-a-like in the UK would cost £2,000+ ($4,200) per year - I used one, and just kept on smoking.

So, they serve a useful purpose, and are probably still a requirement for getting people into Vaping, but tread the market carefully (especially in Australia) as.. "it's all about the money".

Ask on Aussie Vapers. Ask on here.

I can name (and would, if it wasn't a public forum) 5 brands which sell to Australians with <580% profit margins and glossy websites waiting for the new and innocent buyer. They back up their selling tactics with fake reviews, fake 'independent' websites, aggressive social media presence and "innocuous" reviews on you t*be etc.

As they said in Rome. Caveat emptor

I used and have suggested Kanger E-Smart starter kits.

They are easy to use, give a nice cig-like vape for beginners to try vaping, and they are small and light.

Plus the small atty's can be washed, and dry burned and reused several times...
My mother is still using them occasionally and we stated vaping in Nov of 2013.

The kit I got today is just like an E-Smart (I think, other than the thread size). It performs better than a cig-a-like, by a big margin. It actually makes better vapour than an eGo/CE4.

Actually, I think it IS a Kanger E-Smart, made for Gamucci. (just looked).

Not to push something else at you but theres really no advantage to a cigalike over any other vaping device.

Ive heard of Perth

LOL... I spent 4 days in Perth many years back when I was in the US Navy... awesome place, awesome people... absolutely loved it! Laughed at the bartender when my buddy asked for a Fosters... they didn't serve Fosters there. My friend just looked at him and asked "Why not? I thought Fosters was Australian for beer." Bartender replied "No mate, Fosters is Australian for pi**!"

Yeah its funny, when I started buying pro tanks and vivi novas to better my vape experience LOL.... Those e-smart atty's gave better flavor! 3 of us used them for quite awhile and I would soak them in vodka on Fri. night and dry burn on Sat.
When we got ego styled batteries and vision spinner batteries I went so far as to source and order adaptors to continue using them....then they became available in 510 and my Mom still likes using them...great flavor out of those little things.

Oh I don't know , Im thinking US Military may just be happy people.
About 14 years ago they came many nights to a pub in Queensland - they were doing one of those military game exercise things.
Talking away, very friendly think I was trying to show I understood when the talk got "technical"

 You may be right... we're definitely happy once our feet hit dry land again... but still, out of all the places I've been, Australia and Tasmania were my favorites. Rhodes, Greece would be right up there in that list as well... maybe some day I'll get to travel again and go back to visit some of those places...

An E-smart is what finally got me off cigarettes in December 2013 having failed with using cigalikes for 2 years. I still use it when I'm out or in the car :)

I have to agree with the barman but add Budweiser is American for "pi..s" and they schloch this stuff around every where. I live in Sebring, Bernie Little's home, Loved his boat,(Miss Budweiser), hate the beer! I like Yenglings Black &Tan or a micro brew. Or dream of a 3y.o. " Darth Vader's Imperial Nightcap Stout" I got educated in better beers and home / micro brews and have little to no desire to drink a commercial beer. I spent just a few short months in Germany, really good brews there.

I have to agree with you... whole-heartedly! Can't stand Bud-anything... I'll drink Shiner Bock, but give me a good stout any day. Left Hand Brewing Company has quite a few good ones out. Nitro, Fade to Black, and Wake Up Dead are great beers made by them. Young's double chocolate stout is great after dinner. And can't forget Guinness... but only if it's on tap...
