I'm going to be stuck using my vision spinner 2 1600mah for a few weeks until I can order the authentic eleaf Istick or a mechanical mod clone. I'm going to have my kayfun clone from fasttech, and will be building with 30 gauge kanthal with cotton wick, what would be a safe Ohm rating to use? Would a 1.5 ohm coil do fine with this combination? I'm not looking to get the most massive clouds, but I would like to get at least a little better than my mini protank 2, i'm just tired of buying coil heads because I like the hands on factor of an RTA. Thanks :D

If you want to fully use the VV of the spinner, you might want to concider building a 2 ohm coil. And you need tp have either a digital multimeter or an ohm meter to test your build before putting it on the spinner
Definitely using a multimeter, no ifs ands or buts about it :) However, lets say I ran a 1.5 coil at 3.8 or 4.3 volts on the spinner would I get more vapor than a 2 ohm coil at 4.8 volts on the spinner? I'm looking to get the maximum possible without entering a dangerous zone.

I don't know the amp limit for the spinner but higher ohms + higher voltage usually equals to larger amount of vapor and warmer vape. I don't have any ego style batteries anymore as I use pretty much only mechanicals and VW devices.

Here are my workhorses :D

I run 2 kayfuns one on a Hammer mech mod, and the other on a Vamo Mukey VW mod. Forget the clouds and go for the taste, you can up the VG for more vape output. On the mech mod, the hammer I am using .4 Kanthal 6 wraps .5 Ohms. On the Vamo I am using 7 wraps .3 Kanthal 1.6 Ohms ( The vamo won't read below 1.1 Ohms ). What these guys are saying is right but I am just adding my ten cents worth as there is so many configurations of wire/wick/voltage/wattage setups. Try out till you find the one for you. These work for me and my palate but we are all unique. Live long and prosper, stay vaping

Hypothetically more watts equals more vapor.
The problem is you run into walls when your ability to draw enough air or liquid to the coil is limited. Kayfuns by modern standards are somewhat lacking in both areas. So keep in mind that no matter what, your kayfun will never be a cloud machine.

I always wonder why those seeking Massive production seem to forget the Majority of vapors, tens of thousands, are using cig-a-likes and Egos. Many if not most have not begun to venture into this Cloud chasing / Flavor chasing realm.
In that respect, Kayfun is far superior to much that is available on the market.

Why down what you have personally left behind? Is it not enough that it was once good enough even for you? :)

Do we never realize, no matter what we have, someone always has something they consider better?

Agree 100% I'm not looking to make the most massive clouds ever seen, I'm just looking to make a bit more than my mini protank 2, and honestly I feel as if with the right build and wick setup that the kayfun, even though a clone, will outperform the mini protank simply due to the fact that I can build it any which way I want as long as it is a safe setup. I like you man, think the same way I do :)

use the steam engine calculator.

the little icon over on the right shows red for too hot, green for just right and blue for cold
