I've been vaping for a few months now. The batteries I was using were V2Cigs extra long (which I sold to a friend who is going through the process of quitting analogs) and a VV passthrough I got from gotvapes.com. The passthrough let's me vape at 3.3, 3.7 & 4.0 volts and I really LIKED that ability. Definitely made vaping with different atty's more enjoyable and for the first time, I was really tasting the juices. The person that got me introduced to vaping recommended the Ego Mega VV, and then some fluxo's from gotvapes and some juice from another vendor. For someone starting out, I was a little put-off with having to go through multiple websites, leaving my credit card info, registering, etc...it's a PITA. So, I searched and searched and saw the V2cigs starter kit, two batteries, cartridges, everything I need in one order. So, despite the suggestion, I went with the V2 and it worked well for what it's intended, which was to get me off of analogs. But now I'm spoiled with this VV passthrough and I rethink purchasing the EGO VV. I would come across posts about the Provari but the cost kept me from just pulling the trigger on it. I went back and forth between the Ego, lavatube and the Provari but in the end, reading about the quality of the product and hearing about the customer service, I opted for the Provari. I figured, with the ego, I'd eventually have to replace them and yeah, I could buy probably 5 ego's for the price of one Provari WITHOUT the batteries. I could buy two lavatubes but in the end, with the quality design, components and material of the Provari, I decided that in the long run, the Provari would actually save me money and headaches. So, I clicked "checkout"....
On to the Ritual part:
I'm sure most of you can relate to there being a sort of ritual when the small, rectangular box arrives in the mail:
Actually, I think for the majority of us, the ritual began after we hit "checkout" on the website, camping the order status to see when it changed from processing to shipped. My click happened Valentines Day in the evening. Shipped out Wednesday and arrived Saturday! Definitely stalked the postman checking tracking quite a bit.
I had ordered the starter kit and was able to get hold of David and asked if I could upgrade to the black satin one. He said I still had time and all he needed was approval for the upgrade and of course, I approved it!
Saturday morning, I get the mail and there it is!
It felt like Christmas when I was a little kid, anxiously waiting for this particular package to arrive. I went inside and cleared the table. It really felt like some kind of ritual opening up the box. Reminds me of Indiana Jones and the Lost Ark, when they opened it up! Exciting!
I CAREFULLY open the box and BAM:
All packaged nice and carefully. I'm excited, so I start unpack the box and laid out the contents nice and organized...lol
Charger, Check! Cord, Check!, Provari, Check! Batteries, Check! Carto's, Check! Drip tip..whoa, that's a plus! Check!
Then the "and then..." saga begins. As I mentioned earlier, I upgraded to the black satin one. In all the excitement, even being able to see through the clear bubble wrap, I failed to notice until I went to reach for it (saved the best for last to open, of course) and...
NOOO!!! I mean, well, yes, it's a Provari but it wasn't in black. I was soooooo sad because thoughts went through my mind of not being able to use it since it was going to have to be exchanged for a black one and I'd have to wait an eternity (doesn't it seem that long when waiting for one of these bad boys?!) before I got the right one. I was fortunate enough to get hold of MonsterKenny and also fired off an email to David hoping to get a response. At this point, I'm hoping that all the praise about Provapes customer service wasn't just vapor (pun intended!). It wasn't. I got a response within an hour from Kenny and he told me he also informed David, who e-mailed me within a couple of hours. David was very apologetic and assured me that they would work with me to get it resolved. In the meantime, they graciously allowed me to use this device until mine arrived. More pics of it as the ritual MUST continue, right?!:
Sunday, received the order confirmation! Post office, of course is closed Sunday and was closed Monday for Presidents Day. So...I camped usps again!! On Tuesday, got the estimated delivery of the 23rd and on the 23rd it arrived and the ritual began AGAIN, minus the pomp and circumstance (batteries, charger, carto's, etc...).
Carefully opening box (cause I'd have to re-use this one, of course!):
ah...I see black!
Finally unwrapping:
and it's beautiful...elegant, really. You can both feel and see the quality of the Provari:
Since I was returning the satin one, I just HAD to take side by sides of them just to know that once, just briefly, I had two Provari's:
My experience with the Provari is much like many here. This thing is heavier than what I've been used to but I'm good with that. I like the solid feel and heaviness to it. It's not too heavy to carry around in my pocket, mostly wear jeans and it's not really noticeable unless someone asks if I have a Provari in my pocket or if I'm just happy to see them!
The menu system is not hard at all. I really like it and got used to it almost immediately. Check battery, power off, change voltages, even checking ohms on atty's. Easy peasy. Very well made.
Performance, really can tell a difference in the way this performs vs. what I had previously, which is the V2cig and much more flexible than the ego mega vv I was eyeing initially.
All in all, I'm extremely satisifed with the product and due to the unanticipated testing of Provapes customer service, extremely satisfied with service. I DID ask for the blue LED option, of course but they still don't have 'em...which enters the though, I might need a second one as a spare in case I have to send one in sometime in the future but it was hard enough justifying this one.
