Brushed another one. Again, no sandpaper and no electric tools

I got a question for those familiar with these attys. I have a Russian 91% clone from fasttech. This is my first RBA. :D I am not trying to chase clouds; I enjoy tinkering and want to try new things. Just to get this thing going, I used the coil that came with it, took a couple turns out of the coil and ended up with 2.1 ohms according to my Vamo.
I enlarged the air hole to 5/64ths and chamfered the inlet to eliminate the annoying whistle. Not really knowing what I am doing, I primed the wick, put some more ejuice down in that chamber, then filled the tank about half full through the bottom port. The issue is that it gurgled when I was first vaping and also, juice was leaking out of the air hole. Now it seems fine. What did I do wrong? How much juice do you need to "prime" the wicks with?

By the way, this thing delivers flavor that my Halo Triton only dreams it could do! Just an awesome vape! :vapor:

On initial build i just prime the wick with just enough juice to get it saturated. On refills I never prime. Sounds like you just flooded the chamber when priming. As long as it is vaping good now with no gurgling, I'm sure you're good to go Johnny.

And, sometimes I do get gurgling on refills. I just vape it out or you can blow on mouthpiece with a tissue on the airhole.

@ Pizza2me, Thanks for the help. This morning, it was fine. It did not leak at all overnight. It tastes a little burned right now, but keep in mind I am using the supplied wire and wick which is far from optimal. I need some 28 guage kanthal and cotton, based on what I am see other people doing. :D

Besides the SS plated with brass and plated with chrome.
The ideas are interesting.
Sprung 510 center pin like the Big.
The one piece Chamber Cap/Chimney/Drip tip - would make for easy top filling.

Con - can't use your own drip tip.

It comes with the drip tip adapter i believe

I understand the design...think I'd prefer the 2 piece. After rewicking it's nice to wet the wick and tuck it into the nooks and crannies of the deck and make sure it covers the juice channels before installing the chimney top.

I agree. Especially about seating your wicks.

Why couldn't they have made it so that it was just the top part of the chimney and leave the chamber as a separate piece?
Then have the tube be open ended for a normal 510 drip tip.
