Our joy upon recieving a reo causes us to stuff tons of questions (even if the questions have been answered over and over) in the thread we introduce ourselves too lol. Sometimes we just need that peace of mind of getting current/present time answers for reassurance haha. Im guilty as charged :/.

The welcome friendliness of Reonauts is 1 of the reasons that I took the plunge, if all those that talked me through it had told me to just "search" for the answers I'd probably still be fighting with carto tanks or maybe even have given up vaping completely. REO's are way more than a vaping device, we're a community, a family!!
Besides that, I'm a left brained light ninja and when people start talking all technical to me it's like the teacher on peanuts... wawawa but then along comes that other left brained person who speaks my language and there goes the lightbulb, and 1 person can accomplish what others could not. Reonauts unlike a lot of others really mean it when they say that the only stupid question is the one you don't ask. That's the attitude that makes this forum what it is!!

I have been contemplating buying a REO for a while. ECF is my go to boards for anything and everything E-cigs. I ventured over to this board from time to time. Always use the search feature. With all the different types of Reo's from grands to mini's to updated versions to toppers and add on's, I found myself overwhelmed when I was sifting threw the search results. I would leave and plan on researching later when i had the time. After talking with others and asking questions,(not on the Reo forums) I decided to pull the trigger. Had I just started a thread here with a quick introduction along with some of my questions, I would be sitting here hitting a Reo, rather then sitting here waiting on my Reo delivery.

Heck, if you had come here and asked a few questions, you'd probably already be thinking about what color you wanted your NEXT one to be! But since you!re finally here anyway, welcome. What are you getting? (Color, size, style, did you order an RM2, etc.). It's never too late....do you have any questions for us?
It doesn't bother me one whit that the same questions are asked, and the original post is far more unwelcoming than I've come to expect from Reoville.
Were I new here, it probably would intimidate me away from Reoville if I was trying to decide if I wanted to buy.
I think Lisa does an excellent job moderating these forums, and the last I checked Rob didn't have a mod vacancy.

I'm cool with it too ........ no such thing as a stupid question.
And anything that promotes 2 way communication and interaction with each other is a great thing.
Searching and reading is no fun and certainly not interactive with all the great members here.
Our willingness to answer the same question 100 times without telling someone to use the search is what makes this the best sub forum on ECF. Lets save the cranky "use the search button" answer for the other groups of grumpy not cool people. I've seen people go off on a rant about it and type 5X more text telling the OP off than it would have taken for them to just answer the question.
Its more about customer service for me. I consider myself an embassador for the REO as are many of us. You don't see many good customer service reps telling people to "read the brochure" instead of taking the time to answer the questions in person.
Come to think of it good customer service is becoming a thing of the past in most industries. Maybe its too much of this look it up yourself attitude floating around caused by supposedly good forum etiquette. Screw the etiquette and ask me anything you like.
And zmauls ..... if you hate being "this guy" why don't you change your attitude and be a better more helpful guy instead .... just sayin'

But I see every single thread from a person interested or a new Reonaut, or anyone as a invitation to help, welcome, or give input.
My assist sometimes comes from other threads that were started with the same topic. I search and paste a link so the person can get all the input from before and also some new.
Pointing people to the REO Index thread is valuable. Hopefully they can find some answers easily.
I want everyone to know that it is O.K. to ask. Don't hesitate, please feel free to post!

Well, I'm late to the party, as usual....but I'll just add my 1 cents worth.....when i first cautiously dared to come in here i was nervous about asking any questions about such a strange looking thing as a Reo ( I had graduated to an Ego, carto by then) and a real "doubting Thomas" about all the praise for it that I'd read here, i mean , if it sounds too good to be true, it must be too good to be true, really.
But in spite of my surly attitude, everyone, and i mean everyone, treated me with respect and gentleness and willingly answered all, what I thought, was dumb questions.
I tried to read the "manuals' and such things, but I just got more and more confused. I'd ask basically the same questions, framed in different words, over and over. I was ready to just give up...but these people here didn't give up on me.
Please just come on in and join us.. I swear you won't regret it and you'll find an awesome group of people as an extra bonus...

I remember my first day with my REO. I had read quite a lot about them, gone through the "free" thread and felt pretty ready to just vape with it. I loved it! Until it didn't work. Yep, I BROKE my brand spanking new REO Grand!!!! I was almost in tears. I had checked the battery, the atty, just everything and yet it still simply would not work. I thought perhaps I had overtightened the atty and it wasn't making a connection because I broke something inside and was just horrified with myself. So I explained the situation and was given the answer. To a question that most likely had been asked many times, yet I was in a panic and needed help NOW. It was the most simple thing, yet even though I read and read it just didn't compute at that moment. I still laugh at myself over it, but at the time it was far from funny.
The experience and willingness to help new owners is invaluable, and had someone not taken the time to read my faux pas and answer me, I probably wouldn't be here today telling new owners, "please feel free to ask questions as we love to help out."

Its also gotten much more complicated than it was a year ago what with LPs and regulars and RBAs. It used to be metals and what atty or carto for it. Now its contacts, coils, wicks, unmilled, milled, more battery choices, etc.,etc.

one of the things I like about ECF (the whole forum, not just reoville) is that when someone asks a question, you don't see a bunch of people telling the questioner to just "do a search". forums where people do that are not enjoyable for me.
I don't use the no stupid question rule of thumb. For some reason I use the better to keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool than to open it and remove all doubt. But that's just me and I don't offer that advice to anyone. Well maybe those who deserve it at work. The reason I come to Reoville is to help others find their way to the best vape in the world. I've answered the same question many times and have used other peoples answers that I remember. The willingness to help others is the main thing that drew me to this forum. I feel at home here and strive to give that same impression to all comers to Reoville. I still love ya madman Z. But I love helping others just a little more. It kinda runs in my family and in Reoville.
