The Silver Bullet - My First PV review
Who am I?
To understand this review and to (hopefully) appreciate it, you have to know a little information about me. My tag displays me as Jiff, which is very close to my real name: Jeff. In your responses, feel free to address me as either, or not to address me at all (I really dont care). I have been vaping for close to two months now, so I now feel comfortable writing my first review on my first (and currently only) personal vaporizer. I am nineteen years old (in the minority age-wise for vapers, I have learned), and I am a full time college student, parent, and soon-to-be husband. With all of this on my plate, it is easy to see why vaping appealed to me. You see, in my experience (and many others, I presume), smoking was both a crutch and a burden. Something you NEEDED to get through a day, yet a financial burden and time burden. Since vaping, finances have been easier, and all around, vaping has vastly changed my lifestyle.
Now, with all that crap out of the way, I shall begin this review.
The Silver Bullet:
When I first decided to start vaping, it took me about two months of looking around to find the product that I believed would suit my needs and life style best. My criteria (and what the Silver Bullet review is based on) is as follows:
Battery Life
Throat Hit
Vapor Production
Aesthetics
Overall Functionality
These five criterion will be judged on a score of 1-10, and I will go pretty in depth on my decision on each.
-Battery life
The Silver Bullet runs on 18650 2400mAh lithium ion batteries. These sport massive battery life. This is conducive to my on-the-go lifestyle, as it allows me to not worry about charging batteries constantly (via charger or PCC). Honestly, the battery life with these particular batteries seems as close to perfect as can get. Easily, I will get one and a half to two days of vaping out of one battery. I keep an extra on me at all times, but that is more from the desire to always have backups at all times in case of emergency. Of course, the silver bullet itself seems to protect these things pretty good, and I probably dont have to worry about anything befalling my battery. There is no other score to give the battery life of a Silver Bullet but a solid 10/10.
-Throat Hit
I do not vape at six volts, and I probably never will. When first trying the Silver Bullet I thought wow, this is great! Then I realized I was hitting it like a regular cigarette, and quickly learned to draw longer and slower. This made a huge difference, and I thought wow, I dont think Ill ever smoke again! I have little to compare the Silver Bullet to, as it is the only PV I have used, but with a throat hit like this on stock parts, I cant imagine 6v being tolerable for me. This grants the Silver Bullet another score of 10/10 (no, I am not writing a perfect review, you will see later).
-Vapor Production
Even when I mess up my draw and get little vapor, I will still experience a decent throat hit. However, like many, I enjoy seeing vapor pouring out of my mouth. Sometimes it seems no matter how hard I try I cannot get my Silver Bullet to produce this vapor. Usually, I will slow down and it will appear again, but I just wish there was a way to make an idiot proof PV to keep me from messing it up and getting very little vapor. However, for the most part, I will spill clouds of vapor out of my mouth at VERY comparable level to that of a real cigarette. It seems that about 90% of the time I get decent or very good vapor production, the other 10% of the time I only get a little vapor out of my device. For these reasons, vapor production is rated at 9/10 (Even if it is my own fault most of the time when there is little vapor).
-Aesthetics
Looking at pictures online does not grant the full credit to a Silver Bullet. Upon opening it, I found it was a very good looking piece of machinery. I purchases the matte black finish, and I was instantly very happy with my decision to get this device in this color. Feeling it in my hand I realized it was a lot lighter than I thought it would be. It also felt good in my hand. It didnt feel bulky or awkward. The length of the Silver Bullet itself is a little longer than the width of my hand, so it was pretty much a perfect fit. The button, as well, fit naturally under my finger. All of this in mind, I grant the Silver Bullet another 10/10.
-Overall Functionality
For the month and a half of use, the Silver Bullet performed perfectly. However, the switch has begun to require a bit of guesswork for my finger. If I press it one way, it wont fire the atomizer, but if I press just right, there is no issue. The problem arises when that just right point is constantly changing. It seems day by day it is a different spot and a different amount of pressure I must put to fire the atomizer properly. This is not a huge drawback (and obviously easily overcome), but a drawback nonetheless. Other than this problem, the Silver Bullet performs flawlessly. So, on Overall Functionality the Silver Bullet earns 8/10.
If you have paid attention to the score (probably not, I havent really either), then you now know the Silver Bullet has earned a total score of 48/50 or a solid 96%. In one of my college classes, that would be an A+.
Thank you for reading my first review, and please leave comments telling me how you thought it was. A review on my review would be great!
