The Single Red PCC Light: Please Explain It's Use

Can someone please explain how to interpret the PCC light so I can tell when an ecig batt is fully charged?

Someone told me that when the batt is fully charged the pcc light should go out but that never happens with mine...when i first place a batt inside the pcc the red light stays on steady for awhile (which seems normal to me) and then will evetually change to a slow blink where it lights up red for a few seconds (or at times stays lit for up to 30 seconds) then goes out for a few seconds and then does that again...and then sometimes it will intermittantly flash once very quickly before returning to the slower blink...wtf? There's no pattern to it whatsoever...if a wall charger was doing this id know it was bad but i never had a pcc before so i dont know whats normal or not with these things yet.

my wall charger does it with the normal batteries also. no clue and no real answer from Shawn. *shrug*

when constantly lit the battery is charging. once iot begins to flash the battery is fully charged.

have you figured out why even when the battery is "dead" (won't produce anymore vapor) and goes in the charger, it only stays red for a little bit (under an hour)? I thought they needed 8 hours each time? Sofaking confusing

8 hours is only in the recommended initial charge (which may not be the best idea either). After that it should only take 2-3 hours to recharge.

I don't know how many times I've had to repeat the fact that the red light stays on for only like 20 or 30 mins. even a new battery.

If we could rely on these cheap chargers we could probably assume that your battery came pre-charged. However, since we've all learned not to trust that stupid light on certain chargers, we have to make our best judgement call. Common sense tells us that a small lithium battery does't need 8 hours to recharge and that if we can't trust these things with even a red/green led light, should we trust that its appropriately cutting off current as well and preventing the dangers of overcharging lithium batteries?

Ok so I just got the charger for my PCC. I thought it would be a wall charger but its USB, is that normal? Also, I plug the usb cord in my computer, and the base of the usb cord turns blue, but when I plug in the PCC no light comes on. Does this mean my PCC is bad? This is really fustrating I have been waiting for this charger for a few days and now my PCC wont even charge.

Something else I thought was werid, If i plug the usb cable in before it is hooked up to the PCC, it blinks blue, then when I plug the cord into the PCC the blue light goes out. If I the then unplug the usb cable (leaving the PCC pluged into it) and plug the usb back into the computer, it turns solid blue, but still NO light on the PCC either way.....grrrr

OK I think I got it, as long as I have the PCC and the charger hooked up before I plug it into the USB it will charge, I just put a battery in it and the light turned red, so I think its good to go

I'll chime in on this topic in a day or two, got my cable today and stupid me cut the cord while opening the package with scissors

a little bit of solder and heat shrink tubing should do the trick will fix tomorrow.

that is odd. ok just tried a couple of them. it might just be charged. yes the usb end flashes until it is plugged into the pcc. seems if they are in need of charge the light will turn on red when it is charging the pcc. use your pcc to charge a few batteries then try plugging it in to charge.

Ok I will try this a few days and see what happens. As long as my PCC is plugged in before I plug the usb end into my computer the usb end will stay solid blue. If i plug the usb end in the computer before I have the PCC plugged in, the usb end flashes blue, then goes dark when I plug the PCC in. If i simply then unplug the usb and plug it back in it goes solid blue. Its strange. And so far the only time I have seen the red led on the PCC is when I had a battery screwed in, so maybe after a day or two of using the PCC the red light will come on when I plug it in the computer. I just hope the PCC is charged.

Yeah he never heard of an e-cig before and when I showed him the VX2 he was instantly hooked. Anyway I have a VX2 battery in the PCC now and the light was solid red for a while now it stays red for about a minute, then turns off for about 10 seconds, then lights up red again for another minute. And I still get no light if I try and charge the PCC with the usb charger...

okay repaird my cord.....yes it does seem to matter what order you plug it in but you do want the solid blue on the usb plug (no lights will come on the case itself) so maybe the car charger will work. Before I got my cable I tried the car charger and no lights came on the case so I '...'umed it did not work.

When its fully charged the blue light on the usb will go out.

Glad you fixed your cord

I charged my PCC last night with the USB cord, used it all day at work and did not have a dead battery . So it seems to be working just fine. It is nice only having one VX2 battery in use at a time, since with the PCC it is constantly charged and I can keep my other battries as back-ups. It is strange that the PCC must be hooked into the cable before the usb end is in the computer, but that is not even close to a big deal. As usual, I am happy with my VX2 and accessories, and shawn's execellent service.

BTW, any news on caps for the VX2 carts? I am using small amounts of tin foil to cap my carts, but it takes away from the "cool" factor when I show it off to my friends. Again, not a big deal, I guess I am just greedy
