My cc had two unauthorized charges last month. This happened once before. I always assume https was a complete secure site until today. I was ready to put cc infor down from an ejuice vendor that I had used once before. I notice the https was not only green but had a yellow triangle shape on it. I changed to internet explorer and firefox for same vendor site and in both address box, the https was in black only, not green and did not have yellow triangle i checked with AVG and Malawarebytes and it was clean. Any solutions?

Ever heard the only safe sex is NO sex?

It holds true for avoiding fraud in the vaping community. The vaping community has been under attack for MONTHS. There is NO safe way , currently, to order vape products over the internet. Many people have had their credit card info stolen from using VARIOUS vaping sites.....and the CC processing company is likely the culprit.

This issue isn't being addressed by most e-cig vendors , at least not to my knowledge.

I still order via the internet....but more of my business lately has been going to physical store fronts.

This is often caused by 3rd party ads. Here's the infor from Google I provide to the users of our FB app. (Nothing to do with vaping)

Armed with that info you should know that anytime you are sending / receiving personal, bank, cc info you should at the very least be on a page that is https not http.

That message doesn't necessarily mean that there's a problem with the site. An ssl-encrypted page which loads an image from a non-encrypted source will give that message. It's bad web design and certainly a good reason to be cautious, but you have to look at what part of the page is insecure to really be sure if it's safe or not.

Also, antivirus software isn't going to help in this case. SSL is needed in order to encrypt the data that you're sending because someone sitting in between you and the web server can listen in on the traffic and intercept your personal info. Kind of like tapping your phone line. There's no way for a customer to determine if that's happening from their end, so antivirus software can't tell you if it's safe or not.

This has been posted before but I will don my (mostly) flame-proof panties to say it anyway - for Bank of America card holders for sure and -hopefully - most other large banks/credit unions, there is a free "Shop Safe" service.

Generates a one-time-use number that can only be used at that one site after the first purchase and for my bank can be found on the page for the CC acount. You can put whatever limit you want to on the temp number (I generally round up to the next full $$ amount for whatever the total comes to) but the charges will go to your regular account with no need to open anything additional. Did I mention it's free?!? I do prefer my debit as I don't like running up the old CC, but this option is only available for your regular CC at least at BofA. After I do my shopping, I go to the online banking thing and pay off whatever I just charged, works out the same with that one extra step. So far, has worked great and hopefully will continue to do so keeping me out of trouble account-wise.

It's worth checking to see if your CC has a similar service available with all the troubles out there on the interwebs. And forgive me if you all already knew this - like I said, it's been posted before but if you missed one of those info-filled posts, here it is again.

I only WISH my bank offered something like that for free. They have a fundable card, but it's more expensive than the Walmart card  so I use the Walmart card. You can also do "gift cards" in person, but then you have to go there so meh again.

Regardless, it's still worth having even it it's $3.00 per month and $3.00 to fund it for me. I only buy every few months now, so meh. I probably average about $5.00 per month fees (guessing) but I don't expose my main card anymore for vaping stuff.

I like it when the scammers spend all that time and effort and only get $3.00 or whatever. lol.
