Okay, we need a powwow, threadmates. I'm thinking (as always) about prospective new players who might be looking in on the game, trying to suss out how it works. We've always just played one turn at a time, only playing off of others' songs, not our own. But this is NOT written in stone. It does seem that the consensus is that we should continue to use the "search thread" tool (top/right) to check for duplicate songs (though I thought I might get more feedback about covers). What do you all think about this new one?

Not posting covers in here is one of the reasons why I started Double Shot, The other being I just really like different interpretations of the same song.
I do understand some folks not wanting to put the extra effort it takes to post in that thread, and I don't blame them for that at all.
As far as covers here I can go either way (but would prefer leaving it as it is), just as long it doesn't get sloppy with actual dupes
I do not think You should play off Your own posts. What Are You Listening To Now and Free Association are good places for that.
The search thread most defiantly SHOULD be used (I don't want to go all SK on anyone :) but yes it should be used)
But most importantly, it should stay fun with many musical tastes being played.

I happen to agree with this %100, but I DON'T wanna be boss-lady. For now, we're leaving it as is, BUT I more than welcome any feedback from others. Off to tutor three kids:)! Hope there's some nice catch-up when I return!

What subject do you tutor? I had a super hot algebra tutor when I was in 10th grade that I'm now going to google to see if I can find a current pic of to see if she's still as hot as she was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back when.

Well, it's a game. I think it's fairer to post once and then let someone else have a go.

As far as dupes go, well this thread is now almost 9,000 posts long and will likely soon surpass that mark. Going back through the entire thread to enjoy the songs already posted is a huge commitment to expect of anyone. The no dupe rule makes even less sense in that other Music game where so many people posted songs without a video. So, while I find myself still pointing out the dupes I notice, I still think we could let up on the no dupe rule.
