Excitement is good! My very favorite cave-dweller, bob, we can play all the dupes we want in the free association song-chain game. Having duplicate songs be a-okay would eliminate the challenge of this game...I'd totally have to hear from some of our other regular players before letting all those dupes in. I'd also love to hear feedback from our players about letting in cover songs (not kosher so far). Please, guys, lemme know!!
By "Dupes" does that include same song by a different artist?

Well, a little challenge is fun, but whatever another person posts doesn't really change the challenge for you. If you don't want to follow up with a cover / original, that's still fine.
I'm sure you're kidding, but there isn't a rule that prohibits covers. The no dupe rule means that someone can post a cover song and you can't post the original version (or another cover) in the game. Once a song is played, regardless of which artist performed it, it can't be posted again.

ONLY for fun, yes! It's just however to maximize the fun is what we're looking for...heck, we have THREE active song-chain games. bob, as I said, I'm eager to hear what any/all other players have to say about letting in covers, especially. Letting in ALL duplicate songs seems like it'd take away some of the fun to me...but this thread NO MORE belongs to me than it belongs to anyone else who loves music. Please bring on the feedback, everyone!

Unlike this game, you can ONLY match off of the song's title, not the artist's name, too. But you only need TWO consecutive letters (not our three) to match for your plays (more of a match is just more fun on a personal level). You wanna talk challenge? I am foiled and foiled by that "search thread" tool with the stuff that's been played before, but I still like to play there, too. The vibe got pretty heavy there for a while, though (seems back to nice and chill now), and that will NEVER happen to this thread. All the little flubs and hiccups are NEVER a big deal in the slightest. We'll see what the morning crew thinks...

. But, in fact, our cave boy has posted some real tasty youtube nuggets along the way. I'm crazy-dull because I'm hung up on testing the limits of my itunes library before I venture to the wilds of youtube. I know I'll finally be pushed out of my library real soon, and I'll stop being so square
