For all of you new vapors who feel like your vaping career has cost you way more than smoking ever did I want to give you some words of encouragement. I started vaping some time at the end of Jan 2012. I started with a Cig 2o analog look alike. Then I bought a halo G6 kit to have more batteries. All the while I was buying prefilled carto's from the cig outlet for these 808s. Then I decided they looked ugly and spent 25.00 on stickers to turn all 4 batts and about 20 cartos pink and sparkly. Soon I got sick of charging my little 808s every 2 hours and decided to buy a mod. I decided on a RIO. The Rio's were out of stock for what felt like forever. So I bought a V Mod XL. I ordered 4 colored shells for it but when they came they were the wrong size. I liked the V Mod XL and wanted a mini so I ordered one. A month after sending the wrong shells back to Vapage I still had not received my colored shells in the right size. I WILL NOT deal with a company who jerks me around so I sold all my Vapage stuff and bought a Rio. I loved my Rio. It had a tighter draw than the V Mod which I only figured out upon receiving it. Then I decided to buy a Provari to see what all the fuss was about. The Provari was and is where it's at for me. 5 volts is heaven to me. I dropped it a few times and kept thinking that I would be so screwed if I had to send it in because it was the only thing I wanted to vape after that 1st day with it. So I sold the Rio and bought another Provari for backup. I have spent hundreds of dollars along the way trying all kinds of different liquids and was lucky in the fact that my fave was Dekang camel. Nice and cheap. I tried a cheap 6 ml tank on my Provari thinking I would buy a Phiniac if I liked it and was amazed at how well it works. No Phiniac needed here. I think I probably spent close to 1400 bux trying to find my perfect vape. I did recoup some funds by selling what didn't work tho. I have it now with my Provari, Smoktech tank with triple prepunched smok tech 3 ohm single coil carto and Dekang Camel 24 mg at 5 volts. If you feel like you will never get there please don't give up. You will find your perfect vape. If you made it this far than thanks for reading this. vaping has changed my life for the better. Now that I don't need to keep trying new gear and can just reorder what works for me it can start to change my bank account via spending 50.00 per month rather than 250.00 for analogs.

I'm happy with the eGo Twist batteries now. Just ordered a 1000mah that should be here by Saturday. Coupled with my 2 650mah I already have, should make for a good setup for me. So that should be it for hardware I think. Other than consumables. But of late I've been happy with the basic eGo-C cones and tanks, so it works for me. I do have a couple of tanks, and need to get some cartos for them. But no rush. I have enough juice to last me well into July. So I should start getting to my break even a lot quicker now. :)

Once I get there, my next step will be DIY. I know that will set me in the red again for a bit as I set it up, but I'm thinking I may buy the equipment a little bit at a time, then when I'm ready, I'll dive into the fluid side of it.

Heh, maybe I'll get myself a Provari for Christmas ... or maybe my Twists will still be doing it for me. I'll cross that bridge when I get there. :)

I know where your coming from. I have spent around 700, and I've been vaping for about 2 months. I just sold my provari mini last night on Craigslist trying to earn some of the money I've spent back. After everything I bought, the ego 650 twist with a j tank 2.0 Boge is what works for me. I think I have spent more on juices then anything. Im still looking for that all day vape.

The Twists are so great really. As for the all day vape, I personally don't believe in it, but that's me. I like the variety. I mean, I don't eat the same food all day. We had a good discussion about it going on regarding flavors and what not over here. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...8-love-eat-xxxx-but-hate-vape-vice-versa.html

I couldn't agree more - keep at it. Remember the most important thing: we may not start out saving money because of trying and buying, but from day one, we are probably saving our lives.

I just passed my 3 year anniversary (6/18) of vaping. I've been doing DIY juice for at least 2 of those 3 years. I didn't really like most of the tobacco flavored juice. By experimenting, I found my normal - a mix of French Pipe Tobacco, Turbo Smog from myfreedomsmokes; and mint, expresso and chocolate Capella food flavors. Works for me well.

To save even more, I buy attys in bulk (20-30 at a time), and buy the largest bottles of unflavored nic I can afford. I probably have an average cost now of less than 40-50 bucks a month.

It is SO worth it! Keep it up! Take a look at my signature line, the savings look great after a while...:)

When I decided to DIY, I'd have saved myself some time and money if I'd have known about Wizard Labs for my nicotine liquid, PG, VG, and mixing supplies...and Capella for my flavors. I have tossed most of my TFA and Lorran's (about $30 worth) out into the trash.

;) I have "found" dozens of "perfect vapes" in the last couple of years or so. I hope to find dozens more in the coming years. The money spent has never bothered me. When I'm flush, I spend - When I'm broke, I don't. I've bought, sold, traded, received gifts of, and given as gifts to others of many, many PVs. I like to try cartos and attys I haven't tried yet. I enjoy trying new juices.

When I was a smoker, I always smoked "my brand". As a vaper, the last thing I want is to be limited to "my brand".

I'm always happy to see people find what works for them, and even more pleased to read posts from people who are really enjoying vaping (it is a vice, after all, and a vice that is not enjoyed isn't worthwhile). Also, it's really is good when someone can see a direct financial benefit to vaping over smoking (setting aside the likely health care related costs - only considering vaping vs tobacco use), but I've personally never held any expectations regarding saving money. I rather hope that I never grow tired of checking out new stuff.

Yeah, I'm already aware of Wizard. I'm in Florida as well, so shipping will be very quick. Will have to pay sales tax, but based on everything I've read about their customer service, I have no problems with that small "fee" as it were.

I guess the startup cost varies from one person to the next. It wasn't that high for me. I bought four minis for about $100. I probably spent about somewhere between $50 and $100 on cartos for those minis. I then bought a generic 510 for $40. I rarely spend on anything other than juice anymore. I've developed a system that lets me refill carts with very little waste. My biggest gripe is the Cig20 mini I bought. It was my first e-cig, so I guess I should frame it, but it died after just 4 days ? :( ?

My first kit cost me 60 bucks, buying stupid accessories to go with it, prefilled and empty cartos... approx 50 bucks more.

Followed by a metric ton of e-juice, which I will not disclose the price of. Also bought a nifty locking train case for all my stuff to hide in safely (50 bucks).

Then I bought a Lea Kross (approx 40) with a bunch of extra atties (approx another 40). So then I bought a Lea 800 (50) for a backup and an extra wall charger (5).

Followed by two metric tons of ejuice, again, not telling.

So that's what, 295 bucks to save my life? I can't complain.

Now I want an itaste (80 bucks), with adapters (20 bucks) after which I will buy more ejuice, and I won't tell anyone how much it cost, because frankly, I don't want to know.

Them and Capella both have top notch customer service and delivery. I ordered some stuff from Capella at about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday...and it was shipped THAT day. Ordered some stuff from Wizard about 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, and it was shipped first thing Thursday morning. Can't say enough good about those two companies.

Cool. DIY is my summer project. Just waiting for things to stabilize at work a little. June is always a crazy month for us.

YAY! Great to hear.
I have a provari ATM and am LOVING IT.
Just on the way to finding my favorite juice.
At least I know my favorite vendor: Highbrow.
And my atty of choice is the HH357. Absolutely amazing once broken in. I love the nice loose draw, and the amount of liquid that can be held in there. Flavor. Throat hit. Vapor. It's all there. Most other things I've tried lacked in one of those areas

Now I just gotta wait till my current juice supply runs low and I can sell/trade the ones I don't like, and re-order some 30's from highbrow and my next step is a second provari, just incase :)
After that I'm selling my ego batteries to some friends I recently turned onto vaping.

TL;DR
For me to be happy I gotta
1.) Order another hh.357
2.) sell/trade ....ty juice choices
3.) get a replacement provari

After that I'm in the same boat: spending less then 50 bucks a month on my nicotine habit.
Only thing is I have a spreadsheet on excel going and I'm currently about 40 days behind until I break even.
Oh well. The juices I have should last me that long, and the 357's are supposed to last even longer...So excited:)

I could have swore I read somewhere that the Provari is so awesome that it can asexually reproduce, in order to spawn a Provari mini. :)

They dont really spawn minis as much as the awesomeness of one Provari creates a subspace singularity that can draw a smaller Provari to it from another reality.

Also a Provari is the only thing capable of defeating Chuck Norris.

Provaris reduce belly fat, cure male pattern baldness, and can eliminate that "not so fresh" feeling.

At least thats what Ive heard...

This is a very good thread, especially for newbs out there. There IS light at the end of the tunnel. And you can save money, it's just a matter of finding the right vape set up and so forth.

I've just begun DIY, can you order flavors directly from Capellas? I mainly have only used flavour art thus far, how do the capellas flavors stack up?
