I have been vaping since Feb 10th 2012. I started out with the Halo g6 and then the Vmod XL and then the 2.0 and then the Rio Grand. I was just not getting 100% satisfaction from any of these. So I bought a Provari with the 18650 extender cap. 5 volts is where it's at for me and after meals 5.5 is the spot. I bought the smoke tech 6ml tank to try before buying a more expensive one and found no need to buy a different tank after using it for a few weeks. I started out using 3ohm smoke techs with 3 prepunched holes in my tank and thought I would like the1.7s. I was wrong. The 3ohm are just what I need with my Provari and tank. I finally found the perfect set up!!!! I feel so free now from buying buying buying stuff trying to find the perfect vape. I use Dekang camel cut to 20mg with VG and don't feel the need to try anymore liquids. Before the Provari entered into my life I was beginning to think I would go bankrupt before finding what truly worked for me. As soon as my 2nd Provari (on order now) gets here I can start my new vaping life of just reordering what I know works flawlessly for me. Smoketech 6ml tank with 3ohm single coil filled with 20mg Dekang Camel and topped of once daily on a Provari with 18650 extension at 5 to 5.5 volts. I change the battery once every evening. It's fiddle free and 100% satisfaction. Whats your story of finding the perfect vape?

You have come a long way in a short time, congratulations! It usually takes people a year or so to find out that all those cigarette looking devices just don't get the job done. I know some will argue that point but for the most part that's because they haven't tried anything else. I will add this to your setup. If you haven't already tried them, give Boge Carto's a try. The filler is more tightly packed in them so they are far less prone to leaking. The standard length ones won't fit in your Smoktech Tank but there are many great tanks made for them. Cartomators, Depth Charges, Clean tanks, Lavatanks (if you can get one) are just some of the ones I use. They cost a bit more but, as always, you get what you pay for. The Clean Tanks from Avid Vapor are fantastic!

I bought a ProVari about 2 weeks into my vaping career, I knew I was going to end up with one so I got one early. I just love it, like you I got 18650 batteries and swap them once a day and I'm done. Just because I found something satisfying doesn't mean I won't try a different mod in the future, but for right now I'm happy. My juice selection is settling in to a small variety, but the hunt continues for that perfect vape.

I do have some Boges and love them also but I really am diggin the flange on the smoketechs that stops them from sliding down to far. I may try one or more of the suggested tanks in the future but for now I am just gonna sit back and let my bank account heal for awhile.I am not sure because I refuse to keep track but I would be willing to bet that I have spent at least 2000 bucks on this quest in the last 3 months.

I haven't been around too long either. I got my Provari after my first month, but since then I have aquired 3 Reo's (Grand, Mini and VV Woodie) and a VV Bogger Box. Love the Provari, it is top notch and always ready to go, have tanks for all my favorite juices and spare batts. That being said, some juices are just better with an attie and sometimes it's more convenient or even safer to carry a box mod rather than possibly do harm to the Provari. That's where the bottom feeders come in to play, with the right atties even the 3.7 boxes are quite satisfying and give a great vape.

I'm glad you found what works for you but don't give yourself limitations. I decide what mod will serve best at any given time or place, or even if I just feel like something a little different now and then.

Good luck,
Jeff

You're setup sounds almost exactly like mine. Except I use a 3.5ml tank and a 2ohm triple punched carto. Mine's usually full of Boba's.

I do switch around sometimes, depending on the juice. I've got pretty wide variety of cartos, from 1.5ohm single punched DC's to 3ohm single coil Boges, with a few different models / styles in between.

Unfortunately, I'm still on a quest to try just about every flavor juice out there that I think might appeal to me. Boba's seems to be the only mainstay I've found so far. So it looks like a lot of my budget will still be going to juices for a while.

For my gadgetry needs I've been playing around, working on finding a secondary setup. Something for quick grab-n-go / portability / flavor swapping etc. But unfortunately, I think I've already found it, so no more gadget questing I guess.

The Ego Twist batteries work surprisingly well with 1.5ohm dual coil cartos. I thought for sure I'd have to stick to single coil on the twist, but with the low ohm DC it gives a very satisfying vape with adjustment room to spare.

Now it's just a matter of if I'm going to settle on the new Ego 2.5ml DCT (I'm in testing phase now), or just the standard 3.5ml DCT's with a beauty ring. The Ego DCT's don't look as nice as a chrome capped DCT, but they knock like 1/4inch off the overall length.

I've noticed an inner O-ring issue with the Ego too. It's not leaking (yet) but there's a couple "strands" of loose flash that kind of hang off of the O-ring into the juice area. I assume it may have been cut by the carto. Not sure if this is going to be a common issue, I've only got one to play with so far.

It's nice to have found something you can call on reliably day after day, but to me the quest and learning along the way is half the fun. I may too eventually get bored and just rely on my "standards", especially if I ever plan to start reaping the financial benefits of being a non-smoker.

I've been a REO user for over 18 months, and my wife has been using a Mini for almost a year now. We have several REO's, but my Grand is the one that gets the most use. It has been trouble-free all this time, and I like the fact that I can just rinse it out if it gets full of sawdust or whatnot from whatever project I'm working on around the house. We've been using the super-shorty Smoktech 1.7 cartos for a while now - they're great for a bottom-feeder. I am planning to get a VV Grand as soon as they become available, as well as a rebuildable atty.

Congrats on finding your perfect vape Dana!

I'm in much the same boat as you - I've spent WAY too much money in the last few months, but have finally found my perfect vapes:

Provari with ext cap & multiple tanks (15+, with a Bella on the way) to swap throughout the day (I like variety in my juices!), and an atty with a drip shield for the juices I don't want a ton of & the times when I'm trying to decide what I want to tank, and...

REO mini - I love my Foxy Roxy! She gives a great vape with a 1.7ohm super shorty carto, is the perfect size for stealth vaping, and she doesn't hold it against me when I drop her repeatedly :D I do use atties on her sometimes, but am in love with the super shorty cartos. They're the perfect size for the mini, and for some reason (maybe because there isn't as much filler in them?!), the flavor isn't muted - as pianoguy said, they're perfect for bottom feeders!

Iron Monkey has been using the REO Grand I bought - I found that it was too big for me to keep a decent grip on her with my hand & nerve issues, so I'm happy he's enjoying Squonkette :)

I'm seriously considering selling off the majority of the other mods & gear I've acquired over the last few months since I don't think it will be seeing much use from now on. I'm happy with Boge 2.0 & 3.0s, and have a bunch on their way to me from a co-op buy in both the standard & XXL lengths that will fit DCT tanks.

Whats your story of finding the perfect vape?

I have many "perfect vapes". I really consider myself to be a variety vaper. I like many different juices (I say this a lot: I stock more flavors than Baskin Robbins) - I like many different PVs (I do have some favorites, but I like everything I have) - I like and use many different cartos and attys.

My vaping experience started a little differently than most. My first e-cig was a mod, and I had been vaping almost a year before I ever bought a standard 510 small form factor e-cig. I'd been vaping well over a year before I ever tried a cartomizer. Like a lot of other people, though, finding ECF was my spring board to jumping in the deep end. Since then, the steady flow of devices I "discover" and juices I just have to try has been endless. The variety keeps me interested and the ever-improving performance of some of these devices keeps me satisfied.

Lol I have been Vaping on and off for a few years (always seen to fall off the wagon) but lately I think I may have found my perfect device with the Bolt. At least I hope I have. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1338221237.576662.jpg

I have many "perfect vapes". I really consider myself to be a variety vaper.

I've been thinking about this on and off since I replied to this thread more than 24 hours ago. My thought process came down to some of the many threads I've read on ECF that start out with, "If you were stranded on a desert island, what vaping set up would you want with you?"

Until very recently, I never had a juice I liked well enough or long enough to think I could survive and be relatively satisfied with one juice. And I only found that juice because of bad circumstances that I'm developing a sensitivity to PG. Flavor selection is much narrower in VG. There are a lot of good ones but the variety of flavors that exist in blended juices far surpasses the variety found in 100% VG.

Also, in the last few months I was fortunate to have the opportunity to buy some high performance vaping gear with a couple of new high end PVs and some of the newer high performance attys. So, I've really had a nice opportunity lately to craft my "perfect vape" with high performance kit. These attys and PVs have actually, honestly, and permanently changed the way I vape. There wasn't anything wrong with how I was going about it before, and I like all the other gear I have... but these new items give me a whole lot of control over things I had very little to no control of before. And, all day juice supply plus all day battery life has given me the freedom to really explore the possibilities with the different combinations of all the different factors.

Anyway, if I think of it in terms of what do I have right now that I'm sure would be quite satisfactory to use day in and day out if for some reason I didn't have the other things I enjoy available for use: My VVPV with a well broken in and performing perfectly 2.0 ohm hh.357 at about ~4.4v or as much as ~4.6v (depends on the day) with AVE 555 18mg. : The PV is exceptional. The atty is extraordinary. And I consume enough of that juice to know I'd be fine with it if that was all I had.
