I'm a fighting game fan and occasionally catch some of the tourneys when they are streamed online. Defend the North was this weekend and I was surprised to see what to me appears to be a new ecig vendor sponsoring the event and their local so I decided to take a look. www.thesteamco.com

For all you Castle Long Reserve fans out there like myself, they have a liquid called The Gentleman's Reserve which looks to be them trying to replicate it. Being a HUGE Castle Long Reserve fan I just had to give it a shot. 10ml@$9.99/ 30ml@$19.99
Our flagship e-liquid. This e-juice is a masterpiece. No expense was spared while creating this e-liquid. We agonized over the details down to every last drop to create something truly breathtaking. A full bodied, smooth vanilla almond flavor with coconut notes sitting on a kentucky bourbon base. When we're done brewing this e-liquid, our brewmasters carefully pour every ounce into toasted oak barrels. It is allowed to age, or steep, for 2 1/2 weeks, each day infusing the liquid with a sophisticated oaky undertones.

Also decided to give their other "Reserve" flavor a shot. Old English Orchard Reserve. Same price as above

One of our Reserve E-Liquids. Old English Orchard Reserve is an english toffee based e-liquid which has been Oak Barrel Steeped for 2 weeks prior to bottling in our Connecticut vapor shop. One of the best e-liquids available today, Old English Orchard Reserve combines toffee and apple with brandy or bourbon-like notes. The flavors, when combined.using The Steam Co's special Oak Barrel process,.form this smooth tasting, bold, and flavorful e-liquid..

/crosses fingers
Im really hope their Gentleman's Reserve is similar to Five Pawns Castle Long. That stuff is so damn good, but its so expensive @$37.50 for 30ml and made in such limited quantities that you can't really get it whenever you want. Figured while I'm taking a shot with these guys maybe some others may like to as well. I'm unsure how long this code will last, but code defendthenorth gained me a 20% discount on my purchase.

(Edit) Kim B. Has shared in the deals and steals thread that she has found a 25% off code good for the month of January. Code is: FB25OFF

I haven't tried castle Long yet but the flavor profile sounds amazing and now it's out of stock so I'm defiantly gonna try this The Gentleman's Reserve! Thanks for the head's up!

They have some other flavors that look good too, Blue Lagoon (coconut & blueberry), Pukana La Pukana La (tropical fruit breakfast muffin and a side of Kona Coffee), and Budochai (peach and chai)

Picked up a 30ml bottle of the Gentleman's Reserve on Saturday. The juice is amazing. I haven't tried anything from 5 Pawns so i can't compare it to the Castle Long Reserve. The flavor is amazing, Great Throat hit, and Great vapor. The store is about an hour from me and well worth the drive. I highly recommend you give them all a shot. I pan on going up today for a bottle of their other reserve and also maybe a fruit juice. I'll post again. Take care Vapors

Got home last night and got my samples from my mailbox. Here's the quick overview.

Gentleman's Reserve is a very close ringer for Castle along Reserve. It smells exactly like it, a drop tastes like it, but it vapes about 90% to it. The only differences are the oak is not quite as pronounced and the bourbon is not as developed as CLR and lacks the proper "bourbon burn" CLR has. But it's damn close, maybe a little steeping will get it all the way there. But still, it's so close and good at half the price it's trivial. This will be my new go to juice.

I also tried SDHC which is an apple and bourbon, not bad, but not wow oh gee amazing either. I like more complex bourbon juices.

I have one more from their reserve line to try, more to follow!

Been there and love the Gentleman's Reserve is awesome. I also haven't had 5 Pawns yet to compare but man the juice is good. The store is about 45 minutes from me.

Lol nice. I was lazy and ordered the 2 10ml bottles of their reserves. Still waiting for them.. :( Should've just taken the drive. I'm in Bpt.

Also had 2 other packages I was supposed to receive today but for some reason USPS sent one to Mass and the other to Jersey. ...?!

I ordered me a 30ml bottle of both Gentleman's Reserve, and Old English Orchard Reserve. Cant wait to try them!

On a side note, besides CLR what other juices are out there that are aged in barrels?

Five Pawns - Signature Vapor Liquid has aged oak barrel reserves but I think they are sold out right now.

I'm also making my own oak barrel reserve shortly, ordering the supplies this Saturday.

I'm definitely interested in this - Long Castle is my favorite juice but I have to drip it very judiciously because it's so expensive :D

That and the fact that once you run out, who knows when you'll be able to even buy another bottle.

Received an email. They FINALLY shipped my order. ...why the hell it take so long? :(

Received my bottles. They nolonger offer these the 2 reserves in 10ml so they were kind enough to send me 2 30ml bottles rather then the 2 10ml bottles I ordered. Lovely :)

Currently have the Castle Long Reserve - brew date 11/15 and the Gentleman's Reserve -brew date 12/28 in 2 drippers both .9ohm.

Its a little hard to tell if the subtle differences I note are because I've had the CLR longer so it has had that extra time to steep over time, but they are EXTREMELY similar.

The CLR does have a slightly more woodsy note to it possibly brought out by the inclusion of brown sugar and the GR has a slight more Vanilla. When I say slightly I really mean slightly. They are so very similar that for now, I am hard pressed to choose one over the other on flavor alone.

The Steam Co had done a stellar job in replicating Five Pawns CLR that I may replace CLR with it entirely. I'll have to give it a little time to age to see if/how it changes over time, but they surely get my vote in the Gentleman's Reserve.

I'll give the Old English Orchard Reserve a try shortly. I'm to busy ATM just soaking in the GM. :)

Got mine today (ordered a 30 ml OEO and a 10 ml GR) but they didn't upgrade my Gentlemen's Reserve to the 30 ml, I got the 10 ml. Lucky you! I do have to say that I was a little disappointed with the shipping, it was in a priority shipping box but the juices were just thrown in the box, not wrapped or protected in any way, glad they weren't glass bottles.....

ETA: Vaping the Old English Reserve (iTaste vv v3, 2.5 coil on a mini Davide, 8 watts) and I'm definitely getting the brandy flavor, apple in the background, and a hint of the toffee with a bit of warm oak on the exhale. Very nice, I can only imagine how dripping this would be, (I'm not that advanced in my vaping journey yet) but pretty darn impressive for your basic tank vaping. Very relaxing vape and very unique, I haven't tried any other juice that even vaguely resembles this, 2 thumbs up from this vaper...:toast:
