.I doubt he will care if this thing is bright purple with a unicorn on it and is shaped like a teddybear, as long as he can use it as he drives.
:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Love the imagery! Welcome and congrats...looks like you're off to a great start! It's a bit overwhelming then we get all excited and the guys are like whatever at first. Thanks for the welcome. It is overwhelming and funny but I understand completely.

My internal thoughts in order:
1. I need to quit smoking.
2. I'll just get one of those ecig things.
3. Which one do I buy? Need more info!
4. Too much info, too much... overload.
5. Deep breath. I'm just gonna pick one.
6. Now how does it work?
7. Oh, seems simple enough.

So with him:

Me: I bought electronic cigarettes to quit smoking or at the very least make it a lot less harmful.
Him: Awesome, did you get me one?
Me: No, but I can.
Him: Did you order mine yet?
Me: Not yet. People are saying you are probably going to need a different set up than mine. It doesn't look like a cigarette and it has this button, but you can load a lot of juice into it and you don't have to charge it as often. Seems like this may be the one but it is about $150. What color do you want?
Him: Um, what??? Wait, I will just check your stuff out and you can explain this to me later. juice??? You put juice in a cigarette?

Maybe I should tell him I will get him a purple unicorn sticker and it will make everything all better.

I had to try. Still, I pay $68 for a carton of Camels which last me a week, so I guess I can foot the bill on this one but this is the last time. Next one is on you.

That is the perfect attitude to have!! Many vapers forget what was really being spent on cigs. It's hard to compare when the ecig purchases stick around yet the analog packs were just crumpled up and tossed.
Big welcomes to you and hubby! Sounds like you are on the right track and will be pros at this before you know it.

I don't bat an eye when I lay $140 on the counter at the local gas station every week for our cartons, and he usually ends up picking up a few more packs during the week too. So while I have better things to spend money on, this is still a step in the right direction for me.

See, I told you.

Oh, all powerful and knowing one... yeah, yeah.

A sense of humor always helps when starting out. lol Now that you have found this forum you will learn alot. It is all overwhelming in the beginning but before you know it you will be a scholar. Hang in there and good luck!

You two are off to a great start. Enjoy the ride!

My attitude was similar--OK, I'm going to give this a try. I figured at best I'd cut down smoking. When I wanted a cig I grabbed my awful tasting mini and sometimes would reward myself when the taste got to me by having a cigarette---like having desert!

I reduced my habit by 1/2 the first day and it kept reducing practically on it's own. Should have seen me when the darn thing wasn't working right and my on line order was days away---I really didn't want to reverse the trend at this point.

In search of juice locally I bought a whole new kit (better one at least) and extra filled cartridges at the nicest tobacco shop I could find easily in the area and continued my study mission. Guy goofed and one box was mint---and it was good! I love that auto 901--tho it sits now as back up and fond memories.

YIPEE!!! Home at last
ok I get to put my 2 cents in too. I am not a truck driver however I hated dripping to much work (insert how lazy can you be comments here) tried cartos and clearos and tanks and and and. I like eGo Ts they are cool. I couldn't get into the others there was just something missing. Then I discovered The Dripper. It is a bottle that holds the juice and feeds to the atty through a tip (top feeder). I use it with an eGo battery. I freakin love this thing. As far as tough designs. I don't have one yet but the stories I have read about the BUZZ form not cigs dot com are crazy. The best two I have read are the one where the vaper ran over it with his truck and then picked it up and started vaping it... he did it as a demonstration for his neighbor. The other story was something about it surviving after and being vapable after falling from a motorcycle at highway/freeway speeds. I am very impressed with the CS there. These are variable voltage Mods and are a bit more expensive in the short term but they are tough and have advantages. Let me just state at this time I am not just a fan boy , if this company fails me you will know that as well. People get confused because I like to promote companies that have been good to me. Also new friend you are determined it will not take long until you are with us complaining about how this should do this or that and helping a noob like you used to be....lol. Good look find me anytime I am always happy to give my opinion about anything.

LOL, I am so with you! I first got on ecf, lurked and read until my eyes crossed, put everydarnedthing into an online basket, and finally clicked on an eGo. I was lucky, it is a very good first pv, and doesn't have the aggravation of switching batteries every hour. I quickly switched to cartomizers which kept me from fooling with blue foam or dripping. Then I got really lazy and got tired of adding juice to my cartomizers.

I got a REO Mini, and it truely is easier than a cigarette. The juice is there, takes the low resistance atomizers for a great hit, and uses real 3.7v batteries. Not much bigger than a Zippo, which is fabulous for my small hands.

The only reason I think your hubby needs a REO Grand is that I still need to change the batteries once or twice a day. Not a problem, but the Grand uses a battery that will last for a full day. The Grand is about the size of a pack of cigs. Oh, and if you want to, engrave a freaking unicorn on the anodized aluminum http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/reos-mods/162755-modding-mod-4.html#post2783584 :)

LMAO, now I have to put a unicorn on his somehow and take a picture of it for you all. If he joins here or posts with my account he will be known as the unicorn man.

I will add Buzz, Ego T, and Reo grand to my list of ones to consider for him. Thank you all.

I stalked the mailman today. As I was watching from my upstairs window I saw him put a box in my mailbox. I thought it was my Apollo kit. I threw on my shoes and ran out to get it. I was out of cigarettes (tried to make my last two packs last but they ran out about 2 hours before the mail came.) Much to my disappointment it was my order of juice from wetyourstick. While I am happy to have the juice, I have to wait until my Apollo kit or kr808 kit comes in. Oh the frustration!

So I bought 3 packs of Camels with the hopes they will last me until a new box comes in the mail.

I also took a look at other juice suppliers and bookmarked some. While I was tempted to just go ahead and order a few new bottles to try, I don't know what I need yet as I have never used any of them. I made myself wait until I figure out if I like PG, VG, and what strengths I need.

I am not a patient person. The wait is killing me.

Update: While my Apollo kit still hasn't arrived, my kr808d-1 came earlier today! I live in the same state as LiteCigUSA so I am sure that helps with shipping time.

Oh my mudder frackling monkey gibblets! I love this thing! I tastes so much better than my Camels- even the Camel e-juice tastes better than a Camel. My favorite one so far is my pillow mint juice (tastes like an Andes mint or like a Thin Mint cookie). I will be buying a big bottle of pillow mint when I need more juice.

I have discovered a that ecigs are better than real cigarettes, vaping is better than smoking, and I prefer PG to VG (not a fan of the throat hit). Also that I like 16-18 mg of nic and that 24 is too high for me.

Next to purchase:

KR808d-1 XL battery (no rush though, these are working great)
Drip tip (I want to try it)
Stuff to make my own e-juice (because I am cheap like that)

I really didn't think I would like the manual battery but it is easy. Once I figured out you hold these like a um... yeah, left handed cigarette... you know what I mean, the button is simple.

I love love love my kr808d-1!

When my Apollo Standard kit (which through the power of search I have discovered is a DSE108) gets here I am sure I will be playing with it.

Best part yet- I had 7 Camels today, only 2 of which were after the ecig got here.

Congrats!!! Welcome to a whole new world, it's much tastier and smells better then the old one. Well most of the time, there are times when I wish my sense of smell was still dulled by smoking. Kids, hubby, and pets can make some powerful smells. :) I remember the first time I went to Pizza Hut after about a month into switching, I kept raving about how the pizza tasted just like it did in high school and how awesome it was. I've also had to moderate how spicy I make chili since I can actually taste the spices now. You're gonna do great and if you have any questions the folks here are glad to answer them. Welcome to the wonderful world of vaping!

KR-808's are great for starting out, that's what I started with & it worked for me! It sort of looks like a cigarette, it's pretty reliable and satisfied my cravings for regular cigarettes. You will know when it's time to step up to something else, with me it was the short battery life of the KR-808, but as long as it works for you it's a great way to start! Vaping is fun and so much better than smoking. For the first time in many years I don't have to worry about whether I have stinky cigarette breath before I kiss my non-smoking hubby!

Thanks for the warm welcomes and support, everyone. I am only a few hours into it but it is so nice. I just tried the Creme e-juice and it is good too.

My hubby tried it today. Took one really hard hit despite me explaining that he needed to go slow with it, handed it back and said "nah, that thing will kill me." He coughed like crazy. I'm not pushing the issue. I like it and he can keep puffing away on his coffin nails. When/if he ever wants to try it again, he knows where to find me.

My kids are all into it and supportive. They are asking about the different flavors and if the PVs come in different colors. My oldest is 11 and insists I get one with a pink LED on the end. She also wants to decorate it for me.

I think this is a positive change and I look forward to chasing them around the yard this summer and not gasping for breath or stopping the soccer game for a cigarette break.
