The Subject of COOL!

Being new to the site, a 2 pack a day guy, and very curious. I have spent a significant amount of time researching vaping. I decided it was for me and have since placed my first order.

Now during my research in the forum, i was surprised to find people commenting that vaping is COOL. I was taken aback in fact by the sheer volume. So I ask this of you.

Do you think vaping is COOL????

Just to give you my two cents, i think people are crazy. Sunglasses are cool, Leather jackets are cool, ferraris are cool, skydiving is cool. Being addicted to nicotine - be them anologs or vapes is anything but cool. In fact i would say that you look a little silly if anything. Especially the big bulky hybrids.

Even so - I am soon to be on the silly train too, and probably wont care less how daft i look.

So lets get your opinion on the subject.

I don't think it's cool but some do, maybe compared to analogs. Some think it's gay to have a led that lights up when you take a puff, some think they are men because they smoke the real thing and not some electronic thing a.s.o. Some tell me I am a junky because of the nic. Sometimes I think a lot of people would leave me alone if I smoke analogs (will never do that again).
Anyway, you have the choice to reduce the nic to 0 and I think that is much easier with the ecig.

When I'm sitting in my favorite bar (smoking allowed), and people know what I'm doing, I still feel pretty dorky, and cover up my LED. I've had people in other places tell me they thought i was chewing on my pen and/or wondered what the heck i was doing- it certainly didn't appear to be cool- i think I look more neurotic than anything else. Over all though, my friends are happy for me that I'm not smoking, even the smokers who don't want to switch themselves...

It's not 'Fonz' cool but it is COOL that we have an alternative that most feel is a safer and just as satisfying alternative.

I'm seeing more and more threads of people saying " I want to start vaping to loose weight!" Dumb.

Picking up a potentially dangerous habit so you can join in on your friends smoke breaks is just plain ignorance.

Ecigs are for people who are looking for a safer alternative from traditional cigarettes. That is it. There is no grey area. Period. That is what it should be used for.

If you seriously have the nerve to come on an ecig forum looking for someone to condone your ridiculous revelation, you should seek therapy immediately. Vaping is not cool. Being a nonsmoker is cool.

Being addicted to nicotine is not cool. Effortlessly quitting cigarettes, a MUCH more dangerous way to feed that addiction, is cool. Not dropping ashes between the seats of your Ferrari (or smart car) is cool, not stinking up and burning your leather jacket is cool. Not being a fire hazard and litter bug everywhere you go is cool. Being able to BREATHE easier is definitely COOL!

Not sure 'gay' is the word I'd use. But, the end tip LEDs are the silliest aspect of most PVs IMO. I hate them.

I sit at my local bars and Vape all night long. Smoking in public places in this state is illegal so I think it is way Cool being I do not have to go outside like everyone else to smoke. I stay in my comfortable stool just vaping away on my eGo. Being I am the only person these people have ever seen vape I get a lot of questions. Once they understand the health benefits they all become interested and once they have to stand outside in the rain they all ask to buy one themselves, that again is Cool.

Count me as always thinking vaping was cool. Right from the first. Lighting paper and sucking in burning leaves, paper and toxic chemicals is NOT cool.
I've never really understood why anyone would be embarrassed to be seen vaping.
People switch from the old dial phones to cell phones. That's cool. People watch tv on computers and aren't locked into setting in the living room, den or whatever and get mobile freedom. That's cool. People check email on their phone. That's cool.
So what's not cool about junking the old stick of burning paper and yellow smoke in favor of the new and healthier electronic mode of "smoking"? Sticking with the old cig is archaic..and extremely, stupidly unhealthy. I smoked for over 40 years and I don't miss those killers one tiny bit.

I know I might catch flak for saying "smoking" but hey, I wanted to relate and carry on the thought.

Vaping is totally cool, cause I can do it where ever I want (almost).

But what is not cool is that my 12-year-old sister thinks it's cool. At least I'm setting a better example than smoking.

I think its very cool that we have probably extended our lives. I think its very cool that some people who have switched to vapor don't need their asthma inhaler as often. I think its very cool that fewer of us will develop COPD than we would have if we kept smoking and that many of those who already had COPD have had improvement in their condition. So, yeah, I think vaping is COOL.

i think people have gotten slightly disorientated in this thread.

The meaning of cool. We are not discussing how cool it is to give up analogs. We are discussing the fact that people think they LOOK cool when they vape. Like someone thinks they look cool cause they have an Iphone etc.

Yes i think it is great that you can use e-cigs to quit analogs. I think the health benefits are awesome. However i think you look daft (me included) sucking on a gadget - sort of like blue tooth headsets make you look like a douche and are in no way cool at all.

It looks like it is - people wanting to not smoke cigs - maybe that part is cool but the actual unit - no.

Nope, vaping in and of itself is not cool. What is cool is a person who is open minded to a alternative that is far better than continuing a known deadly habit.
