my experience with getting kits are the carts are aweful.

could be primer they put on the atomizer also that hasnt burnt off yet.

get some eliquid and top off your carts and fill your own with a better flavor you might like.

e-liquid tastes very good when you get the right ones and no, they dont all taste the same.

While taste is a subjective thing, I can offer suggestions.

Try carts and or juice from a different supplier / brand.

If the above does not work:

Try something made from the other base type of liquid than the one you have now (I hear PG is the sweeter of the 2, so VG may be better for you)

I have tried products from different sources, and while I understand when you say yours are "similar" ( mainly in the tobacco flavors ), I do get different flavours out of mine and enjoy most I have tried to varying degrees.

I hope you find something you do enjoy!

Everything I vaped tasted the same for a few days...give the atty chance to break in and also remember that your tastebuds have been abused by smoking for years (or however long you've been at it).

I can taste all the different flavours now, just 10 days in.

You should blow out your atty to clear out any primer as well

Stick with it, bit of a learning curve to be sussed out, once you are there, you'll probably enjoy it.

I didn't much like the pre-filled carts either and my first order of e-juice was not the best. Funky sweetness and if you got it on your fingers it kinda smelled like a dead skunk.

I have since tried other vendors and my favorite -for now- is Wet Your Stick. I'm very, very partial to their Cuban Cigar and Tobacco flavors because there is no sweetness and they taste like very mellow tobacco. This is a good thing. Their Vanilla is wonderful, also without sweetness. I mix a drop or two of Vanilla with Cuban or Tobacco when I want something a little different. Their Coffee flavor didn't do anything for me.

Good luck to you!

Sorry, I didn't give enough info...
Got the 901 penstyle and also got empty carts + some different liquids...I like a tobacco taste so ordered 555 and some menthol for variation.

The prefilled carts were all fruity flavors cept the coffee and the red n white...all very syrupy sweet...

Thanks so much for the info about where to find something different...

And also thanks all for the input.

The taste is pretty subjective; everyone has a different prospective. E-cigs will never taste like analogs! But to start off with, make sure you have blown out the new atomizer, the primer taste can be very offensive. Also sometimes you just have a bad atty. If the taste is very much like plastic or the wrong end of a cig; try a new atty. I for one started off with some pretty offensive vapes; but I was determined! After switching attys and finding a "flavor" (mostly marlbro) that I liked I was good to go. It took a little work; it was not love at first vape! But I have to say after 20 days in; I will never go back to analogs! I've found the vape that was right for me, and I really do like it better than analogs. But I went through a few attys to get there and several samples of e-juices. With the price of analogs, that was not too much to pay! Oh, and because Coffee is my second most favorite addiction, I have also come to love vaping Cappuccino! Go figure!

I might be one of the few who thought the pre-filled carts were deeeelish right from the first vape. They were 18 mg "marlboro" (as if!) and for some reason I loved them. No break-in period for me. It's probably part of the reason dropping the analogs was no sweat.

I've gravitated to mostly just Ecopure cut big time with VG to drop the nicotine to very low, but I've still got some pre-filled carts that I consider almost a treat. Funny how tastes differ, but there you go.

I'm a newbie as well, but so far with about a month in, i don't really care for the prefilled carts except for the vanilla. We started ordering juice from a few different companies just to find ones that were good for an all day smoke. try looking for companies with sample packs or deals to try out new stuff.

descriptions and taste vary greatly. i swear RY4 tastes like blueberries. everyone else seems to think it's a caramel-ish flavor.

We've been ordering from awesomevapor and getting a free sample size bottle with every full size one.

Your mom said not to say...
Did you get enough answers for your question? We all have different taste so when I saw that I just sat back and waited a few minutes to let them pile up. Some of us take to it like a duck to water, others have to find VG based liquids, and others can't see the appeal at all. I remember the first thought I had with my very first taste of an E-Cig was that it reminded me of the taste and "smell" of a overheated radiator on a car. It was just a faint whiff of a memory but enough to trigger it. That of course is the PG in the juice which is perfectly safe in the manner we are using it and with the grade we are using.

Try a few different suppliers but keep in mind that for the most part they are all going through the same suppliers and getting the same juice with the exception of the custom juices like Nhalers Lung Juice and HV juice or the fine folks at Vermont Vapers juices.

If you do not develop an appreciation for the flavors of e-liquid, continue to smoke analogs. They are, by far, more reliable and consistant in taste.
BC.....I can't believe you actually posted this??? You back on the C-Sticks??? To the OP.....Try and remember the first cigarette you ever tried.Did it taste good? or like crap?(Mine sure did).Vaping IS an aquired taste...it may take some getting used to...but keep in mind the potential health benefit it offers. Try switching flavors around until you find one that suits you well!! Good luck!!:)The Wiz!

Thanks for the responses..but please, have mercy on a newbie..I don't understand what you mean when you reference with initials. For instance, what is TW liquids? There were others thruout the thread that threw me as well.

I'm sticking with the vaping..I'll find something I like I'm sure. I havta quit the analogs for health reasons and I AM feeling better since starting the vaping on Thursday.

I also don't know what is meant by 'breaking in' an atty...etc. I'm tellin ya, People...I'm NEW...lol

Thanks so much....TJ

TW = Totally Wicked E-Liquid - they are an e-liquid supplier
breaking in an atty = This means using your atomizer until the 'protective' or primer shipping coating on them is gone I believe.

There is a thread that gives info on abbreviations/initials: ECF Abbreviations 101 in the New Members forum

Hope this helps!

:)You're funny, TexasJody! Try some sample bottles of HV (high voltage) juice from NHaler. His juice is some of the best I've tried.

Just remember, everyone likes different things. What I like, you might not.
That's why the sample bottles are so nice. They're small, if you like the flavor, you can order a larger bottle. If you hate it, you're not out that much money.

If you order from Drew at NHaler, his coupon code is saveinnj for 10% off your purchase. Welcome to NHaler!

I've also heard good things about the juice at this site but I haven't personally tried it. DIY Flavor Shack by E-Cig Smoke Store

Good luck in finding "your" special juice that keeps you off tobacco.
