I was messing around with some builds tonight. I did a bit of searching to see if someone else already came up with this build or not. I couldn't find anything so I'll see if anyone else here has stumbled across this build. If not, then I name it the Tobie coil.

In short, it's a coil within a coil using separate wires at different gauges (not the inception coil). The outside of the inner coil touches the inside of the outer coil. The effect is like having a huge gauge wire wrapped around small pin. I built one coil as a test and it read .6 ohms. It makes a good cloud.

Here are some pics of the build:

Interesting coil setup. A possible experimental alteration might be to try wrapping the coil sets with more space in between. Then, add an additional layer of wicking to the mix. Of course fiddling with the gauges might be required as the outer coil would loose some of the heat up from the inner coil. The added problem would be wicking would have to be fast to transport juice as it would be shared between two coils, but if it worked, it should put out some vape as it doubles the surface area for the shared wicking. Just a thought... The coils are beyond my ability as you have that, at present.

I did find a good wicking method. Leave a small tail on the side, just enough to hit the bottom of the deck, then take the linger section and wrap around the outside of the large coil. Then tuck the small tail underneath at the bottom.

I tried building a dual coil using 15 wraps of 28 gauge and 12 wraps of 26 gauge. It came out to .4 ohms. I wicked it the same as above but it was too strong for my mech mod. I put my atty on my ZNA 50 and tried it at 25 watts. It takes about a second or two before it heats up but it give a decent vape. I think it's much better as a single coil setup.
